I'm guessing that the 'snake' curve is because of ToneBoosters special variety of soft-knee (?) If you right click the bottom node it should turn off soft knee and become hard-knee (which removes the beauty of soft-knee sound and replaces that with the beauty of hard-knee sound).
Guessing that is what looks a little different than Ozone5 soft-knee, at least it does to me. I don't believe Ozone5 standard has negative ratio either but doesn't matter in this case.

fwiw, i *love* the ui pretty much as is. it does big, dynamic tonal adjustments more easily than anything else i'm aware of. the dynamics editor is more intuitive for me than typical compressor controls, and more flexible. the way the real-time compressor curve integrates the overall effect is illuminating. so while FlX may not do precise, surgical tweaks or traditional compressor tricks like other tools, for broad tonal coloring it is brilliant. while more controls would be fine, i hope they do not obsure this uniquely simple facility.
a couple of minor observations fwiw: "%dry out" control seems to me to actually be % wet out. and certain useful transfer curves seem impossible to achieve. in particular, broadly convex or concave curves don't work because the first segment always curves differently from the second. e.g. i want something concave like this:

but with the middle node controlling the shape/depth of the curve. but i can only get this:

and for convex curves i can only get this:

when i'd like to have a smooth, cornerless curve with the shape and depth controlled by the middle node.
don't know if there's an easy way to do this. perhaps shift-clicking a node could toggle concave/convex for the following segment?
anywho, nits aside, FlX is *wonderful*! big thanks djeroen!
enjoy! /dan
ps- i also wonder why the current, non-convex curve has a corner while the non-concave curve doesn't?

"more flexible"? That's an interesting spin. For me "repeatable" is more important. There's a place for happy accidents, for sure, but I want to start with a known response and work from there, rather than relying on serendipity alone to stumble onto something that sounds nice. Creating the same curve twice with TB FIX is overly difficult.
Still, I agree with you, bangzero. The UI isn't bad at all. An option to make it bigger is all it really needs.

Seems an update is due, according to facebook:

Enhanced editing possibilities with snapping functionality, fixing X or Y coordinates while dragging nodes, a completely re-written DSP core, individual dry/wet control for each of the 6 filter/compressor sections, context-dependent colours and brightness on all controls...zipper-free, super smooth automation of all parameters

Yes, I saw that in my rare trip to facebook this morning.
I was wondering how things were coming along in this very important eq & dynamics processor. Will be very interested in hearing how it sounds when it is ready!

Great to have some devs that don't release just bug fixes upadte. This guy creates really stable and clean plugs that don't need infinite bug fixes, and always adds some very cool new features (not mentionning the comp or reelbus new algos). Long live TB !

I'm suddenly interested in this plugin. What does it do?

And apparently it's not a "skin" but a major rewrite! Exciting times.mcnelson wrote:It's the unreleased update. Be patient and you will receivevaisnava wrote:That skin is SO much better! Where can I find it?todd_r wrote:Seems an update is due, according to facebook:

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Whoa, cool
It is kinda crazy to begin wrapping my head around this thing... but the presets are quite nice.

If that is what I am getting, take my money. I've been looking at FIX for a while and it is very, very nice.
Dynamic EQ -- the good twin. Multiband compressor - the evil twin.

It's all about the wavelets. I dream of the perfect additive synthesis.
