Cubase 7 Help,

I'm so new to this that I don't even know if I'm in the right topic or not but here it goes. I got Cubase 7 for Christmas,(Way over my head) but I'm learning and so far it's great I just have a few problems that no one seems to be able to help me with. 1) Screen resolution is way to big, I have to manually reduce the fonts on windows 7 professional in order to make the program small enough to see all of the features in my monitor, 2) The tutorial are in explorer and I get no sound, when I try to play them in the Steinberg-Hub, 3) I have a Microsoft wireless key board (computer) and it will not type (alphabet) when cubase is running, I've tried Geeksquad,(BestBuy) and they could not help with anything. 4) and this is just a question I have the M-Audio, oxygen 61 controller, should I turn it on before I activate cubase or is it Ok to do it after, Please forgive me if I have used the wrong terminology but I really love this program, even if I know that at the time being it's over my head.
