Is there a good emulation of these in vst form? I really love the hardware sound, but it's expensive to buy and maintain. Ideally i'd like a dedicated plug with the same basic controls, not an uber delay behemoth with loads of options.

All of these suggested by Dave (TCC) in a very recent KVR thread are great.thecontrolcentre wrote:AD Dubstation
ArcDev ET-301
GSi GS-201
E-phonic Tape Delay
I personally use GSi GS-201 and ArcDev ET-301 very often and they are my favourites.
GSi GS-201 is very affordable, whilst ArcDev ET-301 is free.
Read all about it in this thread from 1 month ago:

I'm not affiliated with P&M in any way, just think it is a great offer

Yes, it's quite good. And like said, can get it free at the moment.Numanoid wrote:P&M Echoflex (based on the Echoplex guitar pedal)

Thanks!! great suggestions.
I actually tried search but missed that thread as i used keywords for tape rather than bbd. Should have looked better. The discussion is great.

for windows, the e-phonic tape delay is also free... but as for space echo, GSI is kinda close, similar gritty overload, but not as awesome as the UAD version. Dubstation is bucket brigade, but should be in everyones kit really. The feedback is playable and tameable, and it sounds lovely (for most purposes).
