Just thinking, there is no list for video/graphics programs on kvr?
This is a good place to start! :D

I found this
http://vimeo.com/ryoichikurokawa

I'd like to know when is used to make these videos.

I've seen a few posts listing some great graphics programs, but I don't believe, I've seen a "master list" for graphics and video programs on KVRaudio.

Please post any programs for video and graphics programs. Ipad/"I"any thing, Mac, Linux, Windows. Free and Commercial.

Thanks KVR

Don't know why when this is an audio board and there are more specific boards for graphics and 3D programs.

BTW: if you want to make stuff like that, just download the free Blender. You can do Hollywood-quality stuff in it but it'll take over your life for the time involved to get good at it....

Thanks :) As for the graphics on an audio board. The idea is for people, mostly into audio, but who want to dabble in video. But knowing where the graphics and 3d boards are, would be good, so please post those as well.

Blender is more geared towards animation, like pixar type stuff.

Adobe AE would pretty much be what you are looking for. expect a learning curve, but maybe not as steep as blender.

Also if you are a glutton for punishment check out processing: http://processing.org/

I could go on, but that should get you started. You can also check out some cool midi visualizers such as the mam player, the zgame plug that comes with FL, etc (check my youtube channel for some midi visualizations if you want).

Good stuff, thanks! processing looks great! I have worked with zgame in FLS, a bit, could be useful.

Or you could download Art of Illusion, which is also free, open-source, and written by my brother! :D

(The screenshots on his website are about 10 years old, and not reflective of the quality images that it can generate. Come to think of it, the whole website could use a makeover. I think I need to help him out with that...)

Adobe Photoshop
AWicons
Autodesk 3DS Max

These 3 kick ass.
They are neat as anything
I use Photoshop all the time,
but the other 2 come in handy now and again

Of course Knobman gets a mention.
It needs some UI finessing, but it's functionality is peaches

I think visual art might be OK to talk about here.
After all,
as artists we are creating a sensory experience of some kind
I wonder what I want in here
-my site is gone and music a mess

Actually Blender now has a full video editing and AfterEffects-type tools in it.

And if subby is into standard image processing, check out GIMP (free Photoshop) and Inkscape (free Illustrator)

Okay, I really have to question this statement, which sounds waaay to casual. Autodesk 3ds Max is $3,675 USD, not to mention the annual subscription fees, and it "comes in handy now and again"? I mean, I'm a professional animator, and yes, I could see making that statement because my job pays for my software. But suggesting that someone might want to pick up a tool like that just for occasional, casual use is a bit hard to swallow. :?

Feeling lazy, but appreciate the thread topic, so I'm quoting myself, and linking to another KVR thread that may be of interest.

For Mac OSX:

http://image-ine.org/
I - in another KVR thread wrote:[regarding ImXIntel] I LOVE this app and use it tons.
You can load as many clips as you want, and select/control which one (or more) plays, the speed, loop start, loop length, play position, volume, and a ridiculous number of other parameters/effects all from MIDI, OSC, HID Devices, Wacom Tablets, built in LFO's (which can in turn be controlled with the previously mentioned), sound (!), another movie's play position, a randomization generator, the list goes on (!!!).
It's a serious beauty of an app, not to be missed by anyone interested in working with video, period ( imo ;) ).

There's all kinds of other stuff it does; layering, transitions, clip sequencing; it's nuts.
So suffice to say it's easy to control and sync video using ImXIntel with a DAW.
Easy to set up, and a blast to experiment with.

...

I'm also of the understanding that the extended version of Pure Data has video playback options that may satisfy your clip triggering fantasies.

The other thread:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 22#5255322

and another quote (from the Renoise forum), also regarding ImXIntel:
I - in the Renoise Forum wrote: Well, I just feel compelled to say that I've been LOVING Renoise's Points automation lately.
Particularly because I've been using Renoise to automate video loop start positions ( using ImXIntel - http://image-ine.org/ ) where I don't need/want linear or curved envelopes,
and I have to tell you; it's been A LOT of fun.
Automating the CC value I sent to ImXIntel to control the video was a BREEZE to set up using Renoise's External MIDI instrument option and the it's native Instr. MIDI Control DSP.
It was actually VERY quick to mash up the video using Renoise and the automation zooming and Paste Continuously features were incredibly valuable and worked great.
This track and video (silly as it is) was made with Renoise and ImXIntel:

Yes! Look at vvvv definitely. I discovered that tool a few days ago. It's incredibly powerful. If you know Reaktor, or if you know how to program in any language, you'll pick it up quick.

Hey man,
I actually don't crack anything.
I bought 3ds Max for machine design when I was a R&D tech.
It was like $5000 AUD,
I subscribed for 2 years,
and couldn't afford the subscription any longer.
I have the other ones too.
Thankfully Autodesk have let me register my 2010 version on my newly 64-bit system, and d/l it too coz my discs got burnt in a housefire.
As a visual artist and machine tech,
I need it to see how elements go in and around each other.
I can see why ur dubious,
but I had the funds at one point.
Cheers-
and highly reccomend it.
ease of use,animation,.stl
I use it to draw knobs now
