I'm happy to talk about the plugin rather than GUIs. I find the bands are perfect for particular purposes. Specifically, as a sweetening EQ for sources like guitars and male vocals it enhances the body, character and articulation exactly as I would wish in most circumstances. The high boost is also terrific for defining a spot at the front of the mix. Granted there are many tasks it is not suited to, but what it does it does effortlessly and well.Masr wrote:I am sorry to interrupt this GUI talk, but what original hardware is this supposed to emulate? And don't you find the number of bands too limited? Just curious?

Now, that's a good info, thanks.I'm happy to talk about the plugin rather than GUIs. I find the bands are perfect for particular purposes. I was just wondering if the selection of the bands is not too limited.

Really ? What "fact" is that ? Where or when did I ever say "this looks the same as the IK" ? What's insane is your fixation with "looks like".audiovet wrote: Im addressing the fact that you think this looks the same as the IK - thats insane. Anybody else will tell you the same. I really dont know why you keep persisting with that notion.
What I said was..........
If you read "looks the same as Ik's plugin" into that then you need comprehension lessons as well. If you'd bother to read the thread about IK's SSL plugin then you'd know that several people complained that it was too colorful....too gaudy....You gave your opinion that IK's SSL looks "cartoonish" and I gave my opinion that this GUI looks cartoonish......A lot of people have given their opinion that they like this GUI in question....I don't understand why but I can certainly understand they are expressing a valid opinion just as you and I have..........Not too hard is it ?Teksonik wrote: Isn't this almost the same thing that people have been complaining about with IK's SSL plugin ?![]()
Too candy coated for my taste..
Anyway please return to discussions about the actual plugin.........

I wonder does this plugin use oversampling?
Also, what exactly does the "analog" button do? I was kind of expecting it would add distortion and harmonics, as analog emulations typically seem to be doing. But in Luftikus case, there seems to be something else?

The analogue button seems to add a tiny bit of uncorrelated noise to the output. Might well be handy to add a little depth to busses. There's no evidence of brickwall filtering in plugin analyzer so no oversampling.s_t wrote:I wonder does this plugin use oversampling?

I was able to fix the bug mentioned earlier (GUI close and open changes settings in mastering mode), this will be included in the next update. Can't say when this will be right now as I'd also like to include the new GUI.
The analog button mainly adds a bit noise but also makes the controls less exact. E.g. when setting a gain to 1.5 it might actually be 1.48 left and 1.51 right. This introduces slightly mismatched left/right channels and also an "almost total" recall just like one would have with analog stepped potentiometers. In mastering mode these errors are smaller.

Sorry, I missed the last posts. We are currently working on implementing RefinedRough's GUI but I can't say when it will be done. I'd say the main stuff is finished but the details are usually more time consuming than expected.

It would be great, if we had the choice with the gui. I for one would like to keep the old gui but want the bugfixes...
