Sidechaining in Logic?

I'm having a problem trying to use Rez Synth in Logic 5.5 (Mac OS 9.2.2), and I'm hoping someone will be able to help me out.

The plugin seems to be receiving MIDI input just fine when I use it as an audio instrument - the problem is that I can't find the sidechain menu that the Smart Electronix instructions refer to, so I can't route audio into it. Logic's documentation doesen't mention any sidechaining function, so I'm a little lost. Any help would be very much appreciated!

Make sure you have the latest version of Rez Synth. The old version did not have a sidechain, but a workaround for Logic <4.8, namely the Rez Food plugin.

I do have the latest version of Rez Synth (1.2), and I have the same problem with Scrubby and Buffer Override - I can't find a sidechain menu anywhere. Is it supposed to be in the plugin's GUI itself, or in Logic's grey bar underneath the UI where the bypass button is? Am I missing something embarrassingly obvious here?

Yes, it is in Logic's grey bar underneath the UI, right next to where you select programs [read: "PROG 01"]. You shouldn't be able to miss it usually, because it clearly says "Side Chain:" above the box. Click on the box and select a Track, Input or Bus as the source for the sidechain.
Are you sure you did really insert it as an Instrument (the box above the Output box in the channel), and not by accident as an Effect?

I think sidechaining is not available in Logic Audio, only in higher version (Gold, Platinum, Pro).
At least, that's the way it is on MacOS X.

Yeah, that seems to be the case on Logic Audio OS 9 as well, although I do have a sidechain menu on the ES 1 - I guess it's third-party plugins that are hobbled. Damn!
