There's a lot of talk about when and if Nanostudio will ever get Audiobus integration. I would love to see the addition of audio tracks, and the cap removed on the size of imported samples along with AB support. However, Nanostudio still stands strong on its own and is IMO, of the the most capable synth and production apps out there. I purchased this the day it was released and it has held a dedicated place on my devices ever since. I was recently coaxed into writing a track entirely in Nanostudio and sat down today to do just that. It had been a while since I'd visited my "old friend" and I found it very refreshing to just sit down and write in a single application without jumping from app to app. Even if it never gets on the "bus"....it's still solid as a rock. I feel very fortunate to be able to compose and share my love for music with today's technology....I can only imagine what the future holds. Also, just to put it out there....I make myself readily available to developers for testing and demo compositions as well as helping out fellow iOS musicians (novice or seasoned veterans). So if you have questions or comments, feel free to email me at the address below or at home ( buddemeyer72@yahoo.com ). I'm usually in the studio, but I try to make time for everyone. If you have a minute, check out this piece created entirely in Nanostudio

Really nice - great job on this. Did you use any imported samples on this track?

A video showing the making of a track like this would be awesome, but I realize that is asking a lot of you. Are there any videos out there that you would recommend for learning NS and BM2? I just bought NS on sale and am planning to pick up BM2 very soon.

The drums are a custom kit....one of my favorites. It's a dumbed down version of my extensive Beatmaker 2 kit that I released to the public a little while ago. Everything else is done through extensive tweaking in the Eden synth engine....painfully long hour spent doing that...lol. I'm thinking of doing a vid for both NS and BM2 if I can find the time. The hard part is having the camera set up and ready to go as I never know when inspiration is going to hit. Sometimes I gear up to shoot a vid and have the audio routed in such a way that it will actually sound good....then I go blank and sit there like an idiot for an hour and get nothing done. I can probably do some basic track building stuff and general mixing techniques.

If you have that happy occasion when time and inspiration occur simultaneously, that would be great. Really - anything would help. I thought that sounded like the same kit. Thanks again for the free release. I'll have to figure out how to load them into NS as well.

That's a cracking track on Nanostudio and I should try harder to use it and it alone sometimes, but the problem is that I tend to use more than one device or app even at the first idea jotting stage, so Audiobus compatibility would just empower me to come up with solid things on it quicker. To play into the app isn't something I'd overuse but it beats trying for ages to get the same effect as, say, iPolysix on Eden.

I thought the guy said it wasn't coming but Nanostudio 2 might have it, anyway.

Great app, but sits doing nothing after getting the workflow of BM2. I like the Eden synth, but the drum sampler needs more options and banks. Plus it never gets updates. It's got a long ways to go to touch BM2's drum sampler.

It's a really great app indeed.
Don't know if any of you are using the slice option in Edensynth. With this you can map as many drum samples as you like across the keyboard and make your own drumkits with the ability to tweak filters and effects on top of the recording.
I use this a lot along with the TRG drumtrack to add extra drum sounds or effects to a song.
