NI - user library idea. Likely in the future, perhaps for Reaktor 6, or not ?

given that reaktor has become a somewhat preferred platform for creating & selling some of their commercial synths/fx, it would be great to see the user library recognise when you own a license for one of these commercial ensembles and subsequently allowed you to share or download modifications of these ensembles.
with such a system in place, I don't think there's any increase in piracy risks ? but I might be overlooking something. the other question is, if the piracy risks don't increase significantly, do NI want us sharing our mods of their commercial ensembles ?
as it currently stands, we'll have to wait until these ensembles become part of the Reaktor factory content {i.e not as a part of Komplete} until we can mod & share via the user library.
I dunno, I feel it's a good idea given the quality of their recent commercial ensembles but that I'm probably overlooking some good reason they'd like to keep them from being publicly {amongst licensees} modded, at least for a year or so after release.
edit: btw I am of course only referring to NI commercial ensembles, not 3rd party {unless officially licensed by NI}

Yeah, seems the sane way to go. Never quite understood why accessing the user library wasnt just built straight in to the software, or via Service Centre.
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

I'd like to believe you, really I hope I'm gravely mistaken and I've somehow overlooked this, but you can't for instance go ahead and upload the Monark ensemble to the user library albeit with some minor mods & additions of your own like after touch , lfos, velocity mapping etc. Because then anyone using the user library could just download Monark without paying for it. You do realize that (if i understand you correctly) you can already do all you are asking...

Really? You can, say, break open Monark, use the components in your own Reaktor instruments, and then release them onto the user library?kmonkey wrote:I really don't understand what are you trying to say or ask..

I purchase presets for certian synths because they sound awesome. I do tweak some slightly and get some new sounds but could have never done that unless I had that original preset.ChiTown24 wrote:I'd like to believe you, really I hope I'm gravely mistaken and I've somehow overlooked this, but you can't for instance go ahead and upload the Monark ensemble to the user library albeit with some minor mods & additions of your own like after touch , lfos, velocity mapping etc. Because then anyone using the user library could just download Monark without paying for it. As a rule of thumb, if you didn't create it from scratch, it's not yours to upload or sell.
You can take that for what you think it's worth.
