that's true! with the endless possibilities, what interest me is the Future of Live 9 + M4L + Push. Since M4L now included within Suite, it's going to be a huge amount of new users which hopefully will lead into a better development of tools and new - unique - original devices. There are around 14.000 M4L users before the Live 9 Suite release, with over 1000 free devices in maxforlive.com. Seems like things are going to be exciting.

The GUI is still not very intuitive and I wish he had added an effect version like Density. I originally got m4L very much for Granulator, but since getting Density m4L I haven't used it much.

Granite was out first, by a good margin, and Granulator {the first one at least} *seems* to draw a lot of inspiration from Granite.

Btw there's other, recently released, Live9 specific M4L devices on Robert's M4L page

Just be aware that most of them were written for M4L V5, and there are some differences with M4L V6 that could affect devices.

Too bad it's not available for Live 8.

Well, not sure if I understood you correctly, but of course it was/is available for Live 8/Max 5.
I know, but version two is not and it's much nicer.
If you own a full license for MAX/MSP 6, its always been possible to use Live8's M4L with that instead of MAX/MSP 5, the 'normal' M4L version. Ive not tested if that applies to MAX/MSP 6.1 though.

However there are differences between the MAX object support between 5, 6 and 6.1 which could mean that while some obects will work, others wont.

However this was released under a CC license, and its conceivable that backporting it might be possible.

Hopefully the next release is going to be fully compatible with the earlier version.

Since I don't have the full Max that isn't possible. I tried 6.1 but Live says it's not supported. When I try to import Version II into Live 8 with max5 I get several "Gen" errors, so I guess Monolake ist using this new Module a lot.

Doesn't matter. I don't plan to update to Live 9 anytime soon, but maybe one day it will evolve enough to make it worthwhile.

Thanks for the feedback!

Cheers,

Tom

I have to admit that i've underrated granular synthesis for a long time, today i've tried Granulator and i am shocked by the results of some ignorant tweaking. Instant addiction, a real paradigm shift.
Highly suggested, obviously.

Henke is now in the process of making a new synth, based on the Synclavier 2. This is the short demo: http://www.roberthenke.com/NE7.aif love it already!
