A round encased in an ambient dirge with some time bending beats.

...I agree, it could be much shorter. ;)

Thanks to all who have a listen. :)

Edit:

I discovered a fatal flaw in my 11+ minute opus... my main consideration when arranging a track is to make it roughly the length of time it takes to smoke a cigarette, or a multiple thereof. Well, suffice it to say that 11 minutes doesn't comfortably convert to the cigarette system. It's kind of one and a half.

So, here's a slightly re-mixed and pretty seriously curtailed version of Mutual of Ohm Aha, called Deductible. When converted to the cigarette system of time this rolls in at one leisurely smoke.

Absolutely brilliant and beautiful.

This demonstrates that less can most definitely mean more.

Quite possibly my fave track out of all the tracks i've heard so far here at KVR since my return.

Wonderful.

Thanks a lot for that blipp, really appreciate it! :)

The intro keys was interesting but not for over 60 seconds and then some more as the lovely drums and bass kick in, maybe shorten the intro loads and fade it or reverb it up to the back of the mix when drums cut in, other than that a lovely track.

Thank you!

I know, it's long, and that intro is crazy, hence my comment in the original post:

I'm sorry, I just liked it that way. I realize many people will be skipping ahead, and I'm ok with that.

Once again, thanks for your comments! :)

Nice one Matt. The piano is nicely recorded, but I'm guessing that is a VSTi. I'm also guessing that SD2.0 is involved somewhere along the line. I can't decide what some of those other instruments are. There is a high pitched instrument that sometimes sounds like a reversed guitar, and at other times like a flute. The guitar and bass are rather nice too. The entire piece was very relaxing.

Moonlighting in insurance.

Good work :)

Good one! I listened to the whole thing without skipping.

The approach reminds me of Harmonia who were overlooked by everyone except Brian Eno. Here is the first track from their album from 1974. They typically had a hypnotic keyboard riff throughout their tracks but added more rhythmic elements. I think this is much more interesting than Kraftwerk's celebrated Autobahn which was released at the same time.

I like the piano parts working off each other, brilliant, beats stopping then starting again. Beautiful psychedelic warp I get from this.
Very very tasty.

Thanks all very much!

Tim - there is reverse piano in there, and I think at times it crosses with an instance of Synplant and things get confusing. Trilian's Stick is on bass and, as usually happens when I use it, I end up playing some higher parts as well, so that's what is doing the guitarish part. Yup SD 2 C&V on those drums and Pianoteq on piano.

Frantz - yes, great track and I agree!

a beautiful track! :) (and imo rather short. ;) )
