For Wakeman leads you need to use a moog so obviously I am really happy to hear this.
Rick actually programmed his sounds into the factory sounds of MiniMonsta

Just so I don't misunderstand, you are using a patch book from the 70's for the MiniMoog. The patch book didn't come with Monark right?

I think the latest synth that may have shipped with a patch book is the MiniBrute, instead of memory to store presets it comes with overlays so one can mark the knob settings on that for later use :D

70's synth artists probably have a good deal of such preset sheets tucked away in their labs:

Browsing the sounds now Ingo.. already churned out 2 or 3 variations based on them ;)

Put the other thread out of your mind btw. I'm just after reading some of it there, and it looked more like school playground bullying than anything related to synths. I honestly don't know what's up some peoples asses.. WTF.

Anyway, thanks for your efforts :)

..and really liking Monark btw.. ;)

Oh yeah, everybody's happy, and everybody is positive and everybody is very nice

Uuups, why do all the users disappear then? Because I believe what drives threads at KVR are arguments :D

TheoM wrote:Hi Ingo, i don't own Monark but maybe someday. Still wanted to thank you for the effort you put into this and giving them here for all to use. i predict it would have taken quite some hours or days to be trying to clone some original minimoog sounds even with following patch sheets as like you said you still had to tweak to make sure things sounded right.

I think it's wonderful that you decided to do your own comparison of monark vs real analog, and i absolutely see zero issue with you doing what you did at all.

Now i would like to take the opportunity to publicly apologise to you on behalf of KVR. I just spent an hour reading the entire topic from start to finish and i am absolutely floored by what went on.

You did not a single thing wrong, nor SAID a single thing wrong mate.. You simply had a fascination about comparing Monark to your memories of a real moog, and spent your own time putting out some nice factory patches from the original machine for all of us to enjoy!

Somehow in there, it was alleged that because you no longer owned the hardware you had no right to do it, or that because you wanted the knobs to equal the same positions (or from what i understood this is what you wanted), it was alleged that you were implying that monark should follow all authenticity.. such as no patch recall, etc, and all the niceties we get from the digital incarnations. You never said anything of the sort. You were simply comparing the SOUND and knob positions.. there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with what you did.

No one was forced to follow the experiment, and every time you tried to deviate to bring peace it was brought up again to attack you. I actually don't understand why any of it happened.. i am completely and utterly at a loss.. you simply bought monark, and wanted to see how it sounded compared to the real thing.

I am very very sad that you were bullied for so many pages, and that must have been awful. Once again, you did nothing wrong, form an outsider who never got involved in the topic and simply read it.

My gosh, since when is it wrong to compare a VI to it's analog counterpart in the instruments forum? You admitted you were going from memory of the hardware, and the ONLY things you said were about knob positions and sound and somehow all this other stuff that YOU *NEVER EVER* even mentioned was brought up and INVENTED and assaulted at you. I am again, SO sorry for you!

I now know there is a certain group who will always attack you, including a certain developer, and i am not impressed. Ingo, you are my friend here, and i thank you ALWAYS for the massive contributions you make and all the knowledge and patches you have shared with us over the years. Thanks mate!

Theo

PS was great to see you again too Laurent, long time no see!
Hi there Theo

Nice to see you.

Nothing to add, you pretty much summed it all.

Before it gets lost: In the other thread KVR member aMUSEd posted his patches too.

Here is the link with the latest version of his patches (copied from the other thread):

I got a confirmation by aMUSEd that i am allowed to post this here.
