Just bought it and installed

OK, everthing seems fine, played with the controller using the standalone, then the controller using the VST, then when I tried to record a pattern, no midi notes sent to piano roll, playing the hardware pads highlights the vst pads and I get sound etc like normal, but the piano roll is not showing the notes and I cannot record the Spark midi, using my normal keyboard the midi is showing in the piano roll like normal, I've RTFM,

says something about MENU, what MENU, I cannot find a MENU?!

Anyone know what's wrong and what I can do to record Spark controllers midi?

Cheers! :(

Anyone using Spark here with a DAW?

Ok - found someone with the very same problem on Arturia forum, seems I have to set Spark as my midi in and midi out on the midi channel and all is working fine, it disables my midi keyboard controller and the spark hardware send pad and pattern midi to the piano roll now upon record in cubase 7.

Hi,
unfortunately this is not how you should do that.
Spark MIDI port should be disabled in Cubase like it is shown in this tutorial.
To record MIDI from Spark, you have to record it from Spark VST, not from the controller.
See the section 7.6 of Spark manual (RECORDING MIDI OUT FROM SPARK INTO A HOST DAW).

I can record midi from the controller now as well? it's spark midi in/not connected to record midi from pads or hardware sequencer, otherwise you get double notes triggering when trying to record, then when done recording swap it to not connected/spark midi out, the way to do it is right at the end of an Arturia tutorial, maybe the one you linked...

I may have my explanation back to front as I'm not at my music pc, but it works how i want anyway, cheers...

PS any way to turn off all the effects globally, this is I think is causing high cpu on my system...?

Yes there is a way, but you will loose some important part of the sounds.
What are your system specs?

dual core, 32bit cubase 7, 6gb ram, w7.

I know my pc is not at the top end, the next one will be... :)

BTW, it's coping(just), I have also the option of freezing/rendering etc.
