Hi folks,

I'm continuing the recent topic ( http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... sc&start=0 ), 'cos I need to choose and could use some opinions ;). Here are 2 versions:

They are only slightly different in the wobbling bass sound. Basically the first one is brighter and more aggressive. Which one do you think is better? Of course, any other comments will be appreciated!

Btw. it's even louder than it was before, I was comparing it to other dubstep stuff and it is still slighly below Skrillex.

Thanks!

Hi!
I prefer A, I feel that everything else is leaving the space for the bass, so it can be agresive without cluttering the all song.

It is indeed a bit squashed, not so much maybe but what I miss is a real volume change at some point. The dynamic is a bit to linear to me. Matter of taste of course.

I have to say that it is really nicely done, and even though I don't really (or really don't?) like dubstep, I enjoyed it!

I probably prefer the second BTW you make some great plugins.
That said is there any reason why you've gone for the Skrillex styled "brostep" vibe for a dupstep tune or do you just like the style in that flavour ? It's actually not my favourite form of the genre myself. And whilst I admire Skrillex for putting almost an indie/punk spin on the style I must confess to groaning a little when I hear dubstep that doesn't try to veer from that specific template. I am only stating this purely for the fact that much in Meldaproductions Free plugin bundle -(which is outstanding by the way) would be well suited to a more "Bristol based" dubstep vibe. I've put some examples below of various Youtube tracks as an example.
Was there a specific reason for going after a Skrillex vibe ?
Curious to know.

I prefer version B, but it really depends on the context. Is this for home listening or a demo for one of your plugs? I'd say B for home listening, and A for demo purposes. B is a little less wearing on the ears, but A wins for instant impact.

Just to add a contrary opinion, I don't think this is over-squashed myself. It's not the kind of stuff I listen to, but I think that brutal overcompressed sound suits the material.

B sounds better, A is a bit more harsh, although i like the possibility to go loud as A.
best if it could be archived with minimal latency but that's not an easy task i guess.

I prefer the first version. It sounds "livelier" than the second. Both sound more compressed than the original.
