Sound Quality is really important for me, Comfort is not an issue at all. it's also really important for them to be Reference Headphones, Because I can't use my Speakers most of the time so I need my Headphone to be like Speakers in monitoring.
Price range: 400-500$
BTW, it Would be great if the headphones are focused on Electronic Music.

a true reference headphone will have no focus other than to be as flat as is possible and be able to translate across all genresA1AWI wrote:Sound Quality is really important for me, Comfort is not an issue at all. it's also really important for them to be Reference Headphones, Because I can't use my Speakers most of the time so I need my Headphone to be like Speakers in monitoring.

DT-880 Pro 250 Ohm here. Splendid headphones.
Another ones that are REALLY flat are Denon AH-D2000.

Can wear these all day and don't even feel they're there. Not expensive either.

Sorry if that sounds stupid, But Sennheiser HD600's are released 9 years ago. Isn't the newer the better regarding Headphones?MickGael wrote:Very happy using Sennheiser HD650.
I use M-Audio Fasttrack Prowhat interface do you have ??

DT880 has a flatter freq response curve than DT990, so it's better for reference.rob_lee wrote:Beyer Dynamic DT990 Pro

+1 for krk kns 8400. In my experience music mixed with them sounds just as you'd expect on speakers.

Not at all stupid.A1AWI wrote:Sorry if that sounds stupid, But Sennheiser HD600's are released 9 years ago. Isn't the newer the better regarding Headphones?MickGael wrote:Very happy using Sennheiser HD650.
IIRC, the HD650 replaced the HD625, which I used for years and loved. The biggest difference I hear between the HD600 and the HD650 is in the lower midrange. Some people think the leaner mids on the HD600 lend them a more transparent sound. Others describe the HD650 as fuller sounding. As for me, I've grown to appreciate the fullness. What I love is the relaxed, natural top.
I think you'd be very happy with the HD600 or HD650.
I had a pair of AKG K702 here for about a month. I returned them. Very disappointing. Weird and hollow in the mids and lean in the bass. Might have been they had not broken in, but after over 100 hours burn in, how much longer could they have needed? Not for me.
The Audio Technica ATH M50 are popular mid-priced phones. They are OK. I have a pair. People I have in here like them for tracking, but after using the Sennheisers they are really bright (almost hyped in the presence range) and seem to add something unnatural to the deep bass. Helpful for checking mixes, though.
