Good work. 64 bit version now works in Cubase 7 and Live 8 as expected. :tu:

Still some trouble in Maschine. All sounds are triggered twice, on note-on (as it should) and on note-off as well.

Cheers,
Gerald

Yes, I will try again!

Good to hear that!

So many sequencers and setups... Now let's see if I can obtain a demo of Maschine somewhere! ;-)

It works now!

First impression seems to be a cool product, but that each pad takes a whole octave in the keyboard/piano roll seems a weird decision to be default. And the GUI a little small too.

Thanks for testing! Glad it works now!

As for the key range, I'm still not 100% sure what would be the best approach for mapping the keys. The current setup works but is far from ideal, I agree.
Maybe it would be better to right-click the keys in stead of dragging?

Can you please re-download and test it?!

Thanks!

i was really skeptical that you could get the 64 bit version working in a matter of hours lol. but yes, it does indeed work and its sounds absolutely fantastic. where were you when everybody bought that shitty drumaxx in the imageline sale :dog: gonna demo this a bit more before i buy.

i think the question is, how does somebody like you, a small little company create a drum synth that sounds better then the majority of commercial ones, you know what i think it is? talent in programing/dsp knowledge shouldn't just be assumed because a software is commercial. ingenuity and quality control isn't based on how either how much a software product is or its cost. it should be based on the product output :)

By default, I'd recommend sticking with a more common drum map. Example, one where C3 is Kick, D3 Snare, F# hat, G toms, etc.

Why not just add two text fields to all users to enter start and end MIDI notes for each pad.

Overall Comments/Bugs:

1. Bug: the horizontal "mix" slider in the tone section responds to up/down mouse movements. A horizontal slider should respond to right/left movements.

2. There's no value readouts for the knobs. This makes it very hard to use two oscillators at the same pitch. Please include an area in the GUI where users can see the value for each knob setting.

3. Doesn't seem to be a way to create open and closed hats (along with a way to choke the two). Would definitely want this in a commercial drum synth.

4. Anywhere there is a right+click pop-up menu, you should also add previous/next arrows next to the field (in addition to the menu). Example: if I want to cycle between the three "metal" hit options, I don't want to have to right click and select the options in the menu. It would be much faster to just click on previous/next arrows.

5. There's far too much empty space in the GUI. More on that to follow below...

GUI

1. Move the "Unregistered/Beta Version" info text to the bottom left portion of the GUI where you have nothing else going on.

2. Take that additional space you just created by moving the "Unregistered/Beta" text and make the Drumatic/Ephonic logos larger.

3. Make the knobs underneath the "Patch" button on the top-right portion of the GUI larger. The tiny knobs with all that black space are a waste. You could even do two rows of knobs, with the volume in pan on the top row, and the tone/noise knobs on the bottom row.

4. Get rid of the unused black space in the middle of the GUI or make the control section larger so it takes up more of that space.

5. Get rid of the keyboard entirely. As I said, allow users to manually enter the MIDI start/end note numbers. You can do this in the top right portion of the GUI.

6. Make all the knobs bigger in the control section, or just find a better way to use the space.

Here's kind of what I'm talking about...ignore the softness where I just rescaled existing UI elements. I also didn't make the knobs larger or add the previous/next buttons for menu selections but you get the basic idea:

Forgot to mention: it sounds REALLY good!

I agree with Funkybot's Evil Twin's feedback, especially re: the noise type selectors, and the overall GUI layout.

Fantastic sound, though.

I wanted more range for the S+H noise as it's something I use a lot, seems pitch range was only a couple of octaves or so. S+H noise is super flexible because at very high pitches you get different types of white-ish noise, and very low down you get awesome rumbling.

Perhaps a low, mid and high version of the S+H noise would be cool? I dono. Either way, I'm liking the variety of sound.

Not yet but I definitely will. I've used Drumatic 3 a lot so it seems fair.

If it's at $30, I will buy it. 49 EUR is too much for me for a small drum synthesizer... :?

true. its still in beta too. there really should be an intro price. this drum synth still needs quite a lot of polish. i would pay 30 usd though but not 63 in in its current development state.

30$ for intro seems reasonable...
