imho. Samplitude Pro X's most unique, and powerful feature is its Object Based Editing capabilities.
Hopefully Magix will have some great new features to add to Samplitude Pro in the next version. Whenever that materializes.
I don't think any other DAW offers this, including the upcoming PT11 .

What differs Pro X from Pro?
I first thought it was like Sonar - v10 replaced by X.
But as I understand Samplitude Pro is v12 or something?
I got an offer having Yellowtools Independence which Magix bought, so I wonder.
Thanks.

There's only ProX and ProX suite, which includes independence and a bunch of other features added on.

I'm really impressed by Magix support in many ways helping me getting Independence on memory stick, not having that powerful internet connection.
And I also heard that some Waves plugins not listed to be supported - actually work(at least according to people) - that makes it interesting.

Let me just get this straight: Both versions, ProX and ProX Suite, contain Independence including various instruments libraries. The difference is that the ProX libraries amount to 12 GB of samples, whereas the ProX Suite has 70 GB of samples.siriusbliss wrote: ProX is really V12

Apart from that, ProX Suite contains the "Analogue Modelling Suite Plus" as well as a full version of Vandal. ProX only contains 1 model of the "Analogue Modelling Suite" and a cut-down version of Vandal.
If you don't need the libraries, the "Analogue Modelling Suite", or Vandal, you can just as well go for ProX. All program functions in the two versions are identical.

Can anyone who has Samplitude Pro X Suite speak to the difference between the 12 GB samples (Pro X) and the 70 GB samples (Pro X Suite) for Independence Pro? I haven't had any success at all finding detailed information on what kind of samples are included in the 70 GB version. For that matter documentation of any type for Independence seems pretty scarce...
Thanks!
Thanks!

I can only say I bought the Acoustic Bass (Yellow Tools) as a seperate purchase a while back for around a $100.00 and it is absolutely outstanding!mllange wrote:Can anyone who has Samplitude Pro X Suite speak to the difference between the 12 GB samples (Pro X) and the 70 GB samples (Pro X Suite) for Independence Pro? Just beautiful sounding acoustic bass that I use for Jazz.
They have very underrated samples I think--you do not hear much about them but for the Acoustic bass, it is top notch.
I've compared several others to it but it I keep coming back to it.
The Larry Seyers Acoustic bass is also excellent if you can find it.

Basic

Pro (comes with all of basic obviously)

just to add : The 70 gig adds Candy Sax samples- truly great quality samples with key switching: Culture Percussion samples - again top notch multi samples of ethnic / industrial percussion : Majestic Bass - what I think are it's strongest instrument line. I believe that the 12 gig library has a good quality electric and acoustic bass set as well. The 70 gig gives a decent compliment of orchestral instruments. The Nylon acoustic guitar is really very good. You can get that with even the Independence free set. Lots of good stuff. Independence is my goto sampler - I can't stand the Kontakt interface. More than that Independence smokes Kontakt in a lot of ways (IMHO) I wish they (Magix ) would keep adding to the content as well as updating the main program. THe effects are truly great as well... just not as nice a Gui as Kontakt - but the quality is definitely there

Also- I have to say that I think the Piano is very good. They use a dynamic filter set-up through the modules that gets a really intimate jazz type of piano - much better than the older NI classic piano's I have. Really nice basic FM rhodes sound - no real rhodes samples unfortunately. BUT - One extremely cool feature is that you can use Independence to Host other instrument VSTi's as well as effect Vst's. The exception is that it doesn't seem to integrate multy out instruments - just stereo and mono out instruments. There are some limitations to the kind of VSTI's it will host I haven't sorted all that out yet. There is a 250 + page PDF manual that gets you through the basics...but it's not quite detailed in some areas as I'd like. It also hosts midi files such as midi loops that you can key trigger. I'm just getting into that.

You're most certainly not going to find a detailed list with a comparison of instruments/samples included in either version.mllange wrote:Can anyone who has Samplitude Pro X Suite speak to the difference between the 12 GB samples (Pro X) and the 70 GB samples (Pro X Suite) for Independence Pro? However, there's a rough overview of the differences at the bottom of the following page. The ProX Suite version of Indenpendence contains, for example, a complete symphonic orchestra.
http://pro.magix.com/en/audio-plugins/i ... e.579.html
I can also confirm that the quality of the samples is generally very good and superior to the quality of, for example, libraries that come with a well-known sample player from a well-know Italian company.

The main program has just been updated. I downloaded the latest patch for Samp this afternoon, and it contains an update for Independence.Bhan wrote:More than that Independence smokes Kontakt in a lot of ways (IMHO) I wish they (Magix ) would keep adding to the content as well as updating the main program.
