NI Pro 54?

If Monark was NI's test case for re-entering the hardware synth emulation market maybe a Pro54 will materialize. Pro53 was discontinued Feb 2009
NI was never known for their Analog modelling abilities but a 1:1 Model D emulation was a wise move with nothing but positive feedback so far.

One thing is for sure - They're done making plug-in synths. Everything is Reaktor ensembles now, which is quite annoying. A Pro-54 would be great, bu tnot as a CPU draining Reaktor synth.

Monark in Reaktor isn't any worse than Diva on my rig.Echoes in the Attic wrote:One thing is for sure - They're done making plug-in synths. Everything is Reaktor ensembles now, which is quite annoying. A Pro-54 would be great, bu tnot as a CPU draining Reaktor synth.

Well their FX line started off as Guitar Rig modules, then became standalone FX later. By popular demand I guess.Echoes in the Attic wrote:One thing is for sure - They're done making plug-in synths. IMO-
they are making a move to Reaktor,
and obviously Kontakt is 10 out of 12 discs in K9,
so they are putting a lot into these 2 products
Reaktor has stiff competition
but Kontakt seems to be the standard issue in sampling

Except that it would be noticeably worse polyphonically because Reaktor doesn't do well with cpu scalability. Ensembles typically have a single cpu consumption regardless of how many voices are actually being played. You set the max voices and that's how much cpu gets used.jsd wrote:Monark in Reaktor isn't any worse than Diva on my rig.Echoes in the Attic wrote:One thing is for sure - They're done making plug-in synths. True, but nothing has ever come out of Reaktor to Standalone and it never will. They just use Reaktor Player for the individual products. Otherwise they'd have to recode the whole thing in C+ or whatever, from the Reaktor Core modules. They won't do that.electro wrote: Well their FX line started off as Guitar Rig modules, then became standalone FX later. By popular demand I guess.

It does seem like Monark is the template for emulations that we might see in the future. Would be good to see something other than just Reaktor based products though.

The developers for Monark/Finger/Mouth/Razor are expert Reaktor builders. I'm sure NI has a staff of coders who are busy doing updates and prototyping new products.
Do you guys expect the elite Reaktor builders to sit around and not build new stuff? NI will always have standard coders working on new updates and prototypes for new products and they will have Reaktor geeks working on that stuff too.

currently. they've had a long time to work on Reaktor 6, so unless you know something we dont know about R6 then what might be the case for a future hypothetical version of Reaktor running a future hypothetical successor to Pro53 is erm... well you get my pointEchoes in the Attic wrote:because Reaktor doesn't do well with cpu scalability.
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

Yes but that was just using a closed Reaktor based wrapper.APHELEON s.a. wrote:Actually there was Electronic Instruments 2 XTEchoes in the Attic wrote:

Where? What other software has the ability to "circuit bend", basterdize or otherwise modify factory + huge user library? Copy a filter from one synth and paste it in another? Do tellnix808 wrote:

I sorta meant digital modular environments.
ie. NordG2,KarmaFX,Sonigen,Synthedit,Flowstone,Usine,Tass,Audiomulch, some other one too, MAX/msp
I guess the shortlist is:-
Synthedit,Flowstone,Usine,MAX/msp
So it can be told just a little,
but your Reaktor is the only one that runs as a VST native,
apart from Usine.
FL and Live! have Flowstone and MAX

First let me apologize for acting so defensive and cuhntay in that post. .nix808 wrote: Synthedit,Flowstone,Usine,MAX/msp
To clarify, I was selfishly only thinking of how I use Reaktor(I play musical legos diva style...mix and match, circuit bend other's synths, grooveboxes etc) so the gigantic Reaktor user lib is like being a candy store and imo gives Reaktor the edge for novice tweakers or non builders like me. Making evil hybrids is the most fun I have had itb.
That said some of my favorite synths EVER are made with synthedit, flowstone, but I just wish I could mod them a bit hehe. If I could just add a sat/clipping stage before every filter I'd be happy lol:)
maz/msp has the edge on osc daw/controller intergration and I hope that stuff improves in R6.
Anyway, the more modular enviros the better;)
back ot, I really would love to see a new Prophet from NI, although I still love the pro 53 even though a lot of people seem to despise it for some reason.
