Wow. At £120 each they're gonna be hard to resist.
indeed. Have to have a listen it the shop first tho. Bought a Monotron on a whim....piece of crap.
Haha really? Are they a load of SHITE Dave? Demos sound ok on the web however i never tried one.

Rob
I love the Monotrons. They're $35, they're not gonna sound like a Jupiter 8. They're fun to play and they make fun little sounds.

Wanna here more demo's of the Volca Beats, kinda looks like a baby 808  what I've heard so far it sounds good. I'm also slighlty interested in the 303 style one too...

Trouble is I'm out of inputs on my mixer :x :bang:

this really is a mad year for cheap affordable good analogs...

Im going with the 700 lol (wishful thinking)
Keep in mind, that you don't really get the Mini700 filter. All it is, is the Low Pass, but the 700 filter is a Low Pass+High Pass. It's this combination which makes the 700 what it is (ie: sublime). There's nothing like it. Korg really should recreate it using the full spec.

no main outputs? just headphone out! :?

I'd like to see larger versions of each of these.. adding MIDI OUT, a stable MIDI Clock, 1/4" dual (stereo) outputs, and actual buttons for the sequencer.

Well considering I've never used a Korg Mini half of a 700 filter for £119 sounds good to me.

It's a bass synth so the high pass wouldnt be of much use anyway, I'm no filter expert but I do know the low pass on my Wiard Borg 1 sound far better on bass.

Post

High pass can make MASSIVE bass sounds if there's resonance. You'd need to roll off the high end in most cases but that's no biggie.

Am I right in deducing that the bass box is the only one with oscillator waveform selection?

Sure. It will still sound nice. No issues there. It's a great price and all...I will be buying a Volca or two the minute they appear in my local store.

Actually, the Keys version also has that 700-derived LPF. Here, having the real Mini700 arrangement would be extra cool. It would cost more, no doubt, but it would be worth it, imo.
