Since it doesn't look like it has been mentioned yet, the new synth from the former g-sonique guys is out. I haven't had a chance to test it myself yet, but if their previous efforts indicate anything, this should at least be decent.

Looks almost Waldorf'ish with that yellow color :) Will check the demo for sure.

Wow, cool find, I like the price €29, as intro :)

Veldberg XD is new virtual analog synthesizer based on algorithms from hardware VA synthesizers.

Veldberg XD offers cold heavy and ultra sharp sound with analog sounding liquid filters and hard oscillators.

Wide sound possibilities: from classic massive analog to experimental and innovative digital sounds. Thanks to 3 oscillators (every oscillator has more than 28 waveforms), 8 filters, 3 envelopes, 2 LFOs and Modulation matrix Veldberg XD offer wide range of various sound styles for almost every music production.

If you are looking for innovative sound, Veldberg has various new features and technologies as:

OSC signal routing / mixing in various modes: (Standard, Synchronizer, Hernsht1, Hernsht 2, RingMod,)

HyperTWIST technology - for experimental/FX sounds

Klangcharakter - If turned off, synthesizer sound similar to basic soft synthesizers (thin, basic / weak sound), if turned ON expect heavy, bass, massive hardware/analog sound on low frequencies and sharp / brilliant / strong sound on high frequencies.

Veldberg XD was made in cooperation between German engineers from Kastelheimer and developers from G-Sonique digital instruments, SR, European Union.

Veldberg XD comes with 137 various presets in various styles like: BASS, FX, LEAD, ARP, and PSY (Psytrance).

I love cheap and cheerful synths :D

But as I already have G-Sonique's Renegade and also AudiOxygen's GeMini, I think I already might have all the cheerfulness I need?

I thought the intro price of €29 was time limited, but it is in fact a limited number of licences:
LIMITED INTRODUCTORY PRICE FOR FIRST 100 CUSTOMERS !!!
In other words they still haven't sold 100 copies then? ;)

EDIT: Checked out the demo, and they get a plus for that as it comes as a straight DLL file, no installation necessary. I'm playing around with it now, but straight up it doesn't create any sort of "wow-feeling" this, think I will save my money and stick with Renegade for now...

Yes, but their marketing blurb describes all software synths as thin and weak sounding, including this one, until you engage the Klangcharakter which I assume turns it into a hardware synth  :P

I like GSoniques Bass synth ... at first the marketing made me think this was a vst with a hardware unit to follow (Looks very Waldorf no)...tbh at full price and with NIs Monark this has some big boots to fill. Think Ill miss for the money. Hope it does well for those who need it.

Any demos yet?

Yeah, their marketing has always been prone to exaggeration. I really don't understand why there's a switch for making it sound awesome, wouldn't you want it to always sound good?

Maybe the "Klangcharakter" is a shock effect for sleeping musicians...

Just short feedback from guy from GEARSLUTZ (who really tested this synth):

"I totally get the point of this synthesizer.

Those lovely filters are similar to my Nord Lead 2. You can get great stuff from this synth.

I was really looking for a digital VA softsynth that sounds like a high quality hardware VA (such as Nord or Virus).

I am already tired of analog for the sake of analog pfff..
Sound is all that matters and this synth brings it"

Trying to run demo - got Error code 13, and it asks to please contact support. Which I did last week, but I really want to play with the demo :-(

Which DAW are you using?

I downloaded the demo a couple of days ago, and ran the demo vst with herman seib savihost. Had no problem with it.

Demo limitations are: sound dropouts, periodic white noise, and not all controllers are available to tweak.

Generally I consider Waldorf's choice of colours to be brilliant so the colour scheme is a plus. But OMG those fake and ugly 3D knobs. :-o :o

I can live with the layout of the buttons, but more disappointgly I don't think it offers quick'n'easy right-click -> midi learn

Used savihost trying the demo.
