Unfortunately can't see any sign of a demo version....

You can download it for free at their website and check it out. Comes with a bunch of starter sounds, I think. Machfive is also built on their engine.MetroSonus wrote:So what exactly is the engine? It's just their own sampler with crafted interfaces?
According to the UVI site:MetroSonus wrote:So what exactly is the engine? It's just their own sampler with crafted interfaces?
I wonder if the UVI instruments also can run in Mach Five 3 ?UVI Workstation is a completely free multi-timbral instrument that provides unlimited parts, integrated effects, live performance features, and a smooth real-time workflow.
The Sy77 can do very full, 'fat' and warm sounds too.Numanoid wrote: When it comes to the likes of SY77 and M1, straight samples will bring out everything that people didn't like with late 80's synths (thin, brittle, metallic, etc).
No vector synthesis in SY77, I'm afraid. Perhaps you meant Yamaha SY22?Numanoid wrote: What their power lies in is the possibility to shape the sounds, for instance the vector synthesis of the SY77.
Yeah, maybe I confuse the SY22 with the SY77, but the synthark site say it features vector synthesis?:himalaya wrote:No vector synthesis in SY77, I'm afraid. Perhaps you meant Yamaha SY22?
http://www.synthark.org/Yamaha/SY77.htmlsynthark wrote:Yamaha SY77 Synopsis
RCM hybrid (i.e. AFM2 and AWM2) mixing FM and samples, allowing samples to be used as operators
Voice architecture is mixed PCM/FM subtractive (i.e. [AWM->DCF->DCA]+[AFM->DCF->DCA]). Both poly and mono voice modes are provided. Vector synthesis (50 points) controls mix and detune of each element
Never saw that on my TG77 as well. ( Expander of the SY for those who care )The TG33 had a joystick iirc and it could do Vector Synthesis by recording the movement of the joystick, then playing it back ( So it was associated with a particular physical controler )himalaya wrote:The SynthArk is the only site which mentions the SY77 as having Vector synthesis. Certainly, the manual of my SY77 does not mention it.
The "50 points" is also strange. SY77's amp envelopes go up to 4 points. It's certainly possible to set the envelopes to mix 4 sources, but I'm not sure if that's what vector synthesis is about.
[pedantic off topic mode...and all that ]
