I was just curious if anyone would be interested in free multisamples of a 1983 Yamaha MR-1 49-key Console Organ or of an Irish Whistle.

The MR-1 which my father bought us in '83 was top of the line for it's day, thousands of dollars. This thing defines CHEESE!!! FM style sounds (like 48 different sounds with different chorus/celeste/release settings), cheesey backing tracks with arps/chords/drums). If you are interested enough, I will start posting samples of each preset as I finish them. Probably in SoundFont (.SF2) format, it is pretty universal.

I was also planning on sampling this Irish Whistle Pipe thing I have. You know the one, Brass, 12" long, Green mouthpiece, 6-holes. It has a really cool Metallic recorder sound, that is borderline picollo-flute sounding. It can play about a 2 octave range (Buy playing it in a certain way that forces the mouthpiece to act kinda like the human voice does when singing falsetto). And would sound REALLY COOL spread out across 88 keys, especially below C3.

I could make other formats available, especially if any developers are interested in a making a soft-sytnh emulation.

So if anyone would be interested, speak up, and I'll share these with you.
BTW does anyone know where I can get GOOD free web hosting for these files.

Good free samples are always welcome :)

Especially original ones... ( I am more interested in your flute  )

Yes. Yes. And yes.

Especially the whistle.

Thats like asking a group of homeless alcoholics:
"Free beer? Anyone? Just wanted to make sure in case no one wants any."

They both sound really interesting to hear. I'm always looking for something less traditional to use in my music.

OK, I guess I'll do the pipe first. Vurt, don't worry, I'm not takin' your soul..........yet.
Sorry Decipher, fresh out of ram.

I actually went through the studio closet last night, and found all kinds of cool stuff (Indian Hand Drums, 3/4 classical guitar, and yes even a kazoo).

I'll be busy the next couple of days I suppose.

Yes...but don't forget the Yamaha! I'd love to hear it!
Also...please RAR the samples (or soundfont), with the option of creating several splited units (5MB-10MB), against a single bigger archive.
You can usually get 50% of size reduction or more (depending on the frequency content) in audio files with RAR, and 0% with Winzip.
So it's a must for people with a dial up modem.
A lot of thanks in advance!!!!!!

YESSS!!!

I would love an Irish Whistle. They are so cool on acoustic tracks.

When I play with my mates, our fiddler often pulls out a whistle for a couple of numbers and it sounds so good.

Is it a G whistle, or a D or a C?

thanx = kev :D
