Works good as a controller by the way. Although a few knobs but since it's a synth, the matrix is labeled (like cutoff, resonance,,, etc) so you won't get lost when mapping to plugins. Here is quick jam I did yesterday using it only as a controller.

Ok, so this is way too long of a thread to read it all. I thought Venom was discontinued, anyone knows why that happened? Was it because of Avid selling M-Audio? Are there any plans for Venom II?

okay so what I like best about this (okay maybe not best but it's a lot of fun) is just taking random patterns, latching the arp and just jamming away with my guitar to funky things changing keys on the fly...I mean funky weird stuff, lots of squeals on the guitar harmonics, divebombs or the opposite....yeah, yeah, yeah I know I should hit record but I dont even have my host open...if I did I wouldn't have to change keys on the fly.

I might reskin mine with Krylon, at least on the back... For a "performance synth" how did they not realize that "M-AUDIO" on the back made it look like a midi controller, when "Venom" would look so much better there?

I tried the 0.47 but the plug in stays invisible to the software

I'm on the market for a new PC so I'd like to know anything you people may be able to share about this.
I have the venom sound card and an old Emu Tracker pre on my current system (Vista) and I'd hate being forced to buy yet another one because of a new PC.
So please tell me I don't have to

I've used the Venom as my main soundcard and keyboard on my mobile rig. It's an 2006 Acer laptop running Windows 8. Works splendidly. No dropouts, hickups or anything.
