Just to let you guys know, Audiobus support will be coming to NanoStudio in the fairly near future. I've got a few different things to juggle at the moment so I'm fitting in work on it where I can, but it should probably be available in a 4-6 week timeframe if all goes well.

Thanks for being patient! //

Interesting. It is amazing how much consumer pressure can change a developer's mind. I'm still disappointed with the general attitude of the developer over the whole Audiobus support issue, and I don't expect to see further development of the app after Audiobus. I think adding audiobus is more of a face-saving gesture than the developer really wanting to support it--trying to play down the backlash of consumers. Nevertheless, with audiobus, I may end up reinstalling the app--we'll see though.

Well, I think Matt (the NanoStudio) developer has been trying to put all his time and resources into developing NanoStudio 2. He's only a single person development team and has additional responsibilities taking time away from coding 24/7, so he needs to pick his battles. Does he add Audiobus to NanoStudio and delay NanoStudio 2? That seems to be his current choice based on community pressure.

That being said, he certainly isn't lazy as many folks would seem to think. Quite the opposite. He cares deeply about is product and just has a lot of hard choices to make, which unless you follow the forum threads on his site closely, most people don't know about or realize.

NanoStudio was released well over 2 and half years ago and was one of the first DAW type apps on the iPhone, and it was designed to run really well with older devices. There are very few DAW apps (only Music Studio comes to mind) that were introduced that long ago that have kept pace with developments using the same app the entire time.

In order to properly integrate new technology and app paradigms, it will require rebuilding the entire app from the ground up, hence NanoStudio 2 and not just a NanoStudio upgrade.

When BeatMaker did this two years ago with BM2, it angered a lot of people, even though it was probably the right approach to take from a development standpoint. And it still took them another year (or longer) to get a somewhat stable version. I think Matt wants to use his time to build something that that's going to be stable and work well right out of the gate and integrate current and developing technologies.
