Anyone got a Triple play yet? What do you think?

Hi, If any of you have got a Fishman triple play, could share your thoughts on its performance, latency and build quality. It really does look like it is close to what we have been dreaming of (except I want a piezo version!). Reaction over at vguitar seems pretty good so far. What's you take on it?

Yeah I've seen those and thanks for posting them, other people may find them useful, but he's working with the company and will have a fully tweaked setup. I'm wondering what it works like for the guy/gal who walks into a music store, buys a triple play, sticks it on their guitar and starts playing.

I spent several hours playing with mine yesterday. It's amazing. Everything I could ever have hoped for in a MIDI guitar device. Positively kills every piece of Roland gear I've ever had, and that's quite a bit. I need to try it with my iPad tonight.

Performance is fantastic; latency is low, much better than Roland, particularly the low notes, and the glitching is close to non-existent with clean playing. Build quality is solid.

Polyphony is fantastic. Responds just fine to 6 string chords. The pickup can be seen here:

Well polaris20 with a glowing review like that it looks like my divorce will come quicker than I thought. Everything you have said, is everything I have wanted to hear ever since I went into a shop on the Tottenham Court road many years ago and tried a 'synth-axe' which cost something like £8000.

I'm coming from the same angle. Ever since I was 16 and first played the Roland GR-1, then spent money on the GR-1, then GR-30, 33, 55, and GI-20, I've for years been frustrated by the almost there aspect of guitar MIDI. This is the first device to make me smile in the first hour of using it, rather than want to throw it out the window.

Yeah... sadly it didn't exactly weigh in at the no-brainer price level it was tentatively announced at, at least for the European market. It's almost $660 (€500) at Thomann.

Yeah, that is quite a bit higher than here. Though I will say as objectively as possible that even at $660 it would still be a better value than the money I dumped into my old Graphtech Ghost/Roland GI-20 rig.
