Lots of loops n' built-in synths.

Take it easy on me, I haven't composed or performed this kind of music before. This is the first time in all my life. I kinda like the "movement" and dynamics in this piece. Lemme know what you think, guys.

The string in the background is really good. Nice track. Sounds great on my headphone. Top notch production.

I like the track, but I wouldn't classify it as 'Trance' as it's missing some of the ingredients that cause listeners to classify music as 'Trance'. While Wikipedia is not the ultimate authority, there are some elements listed in the Wikipedia article on production that highlight what is sort of expected for something labeled 'Trance': http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trance_music

I like the melodic lead arpeggio you have percolating throughout.

It's really nice, not trance according to normal definition, but nice. I dunno what you'd call it but there's likely a name.

It could be good for a remix but there's no "hook line" yet.

Thanks, everybody. I really appreciate your encouragement. I had fun with this one. I was motivated by the book of Revelation.

BTW, the kewl little bit of saturated "clipping" on the lead synth, is none other than our very own LVC-Audio's "ClipShifter2". He's a very nice man, and his little pluggie is nifty as all-get-out. Please consider trying it folks.

and can you believe it? I own some very cool, modern, creative delays, and yet, it was good ol' Kjaerhus Classic Delay that I ended up using?! However, I'm going to remix using my absolute FAVORITE digital delay: PSP 85 . . . "hoo yah!"

New mix. Much more defined. Added some "subtractive" EQ to mids and low end. (You like how I worded that? "Added . . subtractive . . Oh, nevermind. *Rolls eyes at himself. Kicks are bigger, less midrange energy build-up. Very light brickwall limiting controlling the peaks.

I was in the middle of posting a reply to this last night when my broadband provider decided to perform some unannounced maintenance on me. On the bright side, I got to comment on the new mix

I wouldn't call it Trance per se, but I imagine many of the elements on this piece would be well suited to the genre. The new mix sounds better than the original iirc, although I am routing this to the main system via the DAC which produces a more rounded sound than my Rokits. All of the instruments on here sound great and the mix is very good. Whichever genre this turns out to be, I like it.

PS. "added subtractive" - a career in obfuscation beckons. Corporate brochures and whatnot.
