Yeah! just tested the new Version on a Win 7 PC. Works great here! Really cool plugin again by toneboosters with lots of creative posibilities! The Brickwall HP makes a good job removing kicks from drum sample loops...

Is there even any reason to use TB Equalizer now?

good question, don't know what the CPU consumption is in comparison.oneshotdeal wrote:Is there even any reason to use TB Equalizer now?
I personally would use both, depending on the task, e.g. if i need a low cut or some notches i'd go for the "basic" TB Equalizer.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I've got a couple of guitars that can get a little harsh on the B and E strings using the bridge pickup. This is perfect for removing the nastiness without killing my tone. Easier for me to dial in than GlissEQ.

Isn't there latency involved with Flx ?
And isn't the CPU use higher also, than with TB eQ ?
Tb eQ is more straight-forward and works very well... and he also got a nice facelift, so it is one more reason to keep it
My question is : can Flx do everything that JB Broadcast can do ?
I love Broadcast a lot, it is quite a unique 3 bands compressor with some widening fatures, and now Flx seems to be able to do everything Broadcast does.
I wish Jeroen could tell us a bit more about it

Do I understand it right that an Dynamic EQ (i. e. EQ + Compressor) can be used similar to a Multiband Compressor but is more flexible because of the different filter types?

I suppose that's a good way to look at it. As in an EQ, the affected regions are going to be shaped like EQ filters (i.e. bell or shelf) rather than just steep band pass regions like in most or all of the multi-band comps I've seen.Tricky-Loops wrote:Do I understand it right that an Dynamic EQ (i. e. Incidentally, I agree with bmainc, I'd like to see a return of the global wet/dry in addition to the new "amount" sliders per band.

Trying now---boy this thing has improved A LOT!
Yes, this is a NO BRAINER!

EDIT: also getting crackles I didn't get with the previous version. It's a mastering only tool now unless he finds a way around that, but that's not a disaster. It's best suited to mastering applications anyway. Latency seems much higher than before now as well.

I hope Jeroen is still improving it...A.M. Gold wrote:...also getting crackles I didn't get with the previous version. I really was about to buy it because a Dynamic EQ for 15 EUR is a No-Brainer, the DynamicEQ from Melda costs much more.

Just bought it
I am a bit surprised ahowever : the bass range goes down "only" to 50hz.
Is it due to the linear phase stuff ?

For simple EQ-ing, Flx is probably somewhat overkill
(although it can perfectly do that, the CPU load is higher
than conventional EQs).
If you get crackles, the easiest solution is to increase
your audio card buffer size. Flx works on relatively long
audio frames, which can sometimes interfere with very short
latencies...

Is it possible to have both the new and original version on the same machine?
I'd really like that because they are quite different. The old version was designed differently and I found on my machine with 256 samples buffer setting, I could use it on tracks. Plug-in latency was high, but not nearly as high as the new version and it didn't consume as much CPU. It would be great to have access to both.

Simply renaming the .dll might work.

Will registration work in this case? Afaik, with TB plugins you have to put xml file in the folder where the dll sits, so I assume that proper dll name may be important.oneshotdeal wrote:Simply renaming the .dll might work.
Btw, don't have the time to read the whole thread. Do I understand it right that I can have high end equalizer with some sofisticated multiband dynamic processing for use on master bus for the priсe of a couple of whiskey shots?
