If you get crackles, the easiest solution is to increase
your audio card buffer size. Flx works on relatively long
audio frames, which can sometimes interfere with very short
latencies...
Thanks for the reply.

Is it possible to have both the new and original version on the same machine?

I'd really like that because they are quite different. The old version was designed differently and I found on my machine with 256 samples buffer setting, I could use it on tracks. Plug-in latency was high, but not nearly as high as the new version and it didn't consume as much CPU. It would be great to have access to both.
This is what I was going to suggest. The original version has some advantages (and maybe is better for mixing). So, maybe, think of diatributing 2 versions (although the renaming thing is a work-around).

cheers, akj

Good point. No idea and too lazy to try. :)

Yes.

Yes.
Too good to be true  (exactly the same thing I thought about TB Barricade)

Yea, that was my concern. I'll just let Jeroen answer on that. If he says it will work, that's what I'll do. The two versions really have separate applications.

a subfolder will work anyway. However, my concern is rather the plugin ID. If it is the same it can cause difficulties. Since the presents do any<way not work across both versions, it would be great to have different plugin IDs (if it is not already the case which I still have to check).

Yea, that too.

Ok, in Reaper I got both to work but the old one says demo now. I tried putting it both in its own folder with the license and also in the same folder with the new version and got the same result.

Latency is also the same on both, contrary to my memory of the earlier version being half the new version. I think the new version just uses more (maybe much more?) CPU. It would be nice to add back in the universal wet/dry to the latest version if nothing else. That was very handy.

Maintenance update is available now (2.8.7).

A global dry/wet control is now available, and an X=Y support line in the dynamics editor (and a couple of other bugs resolved).

How much has the latency increased in Flx Jeroen ?

I have idea! How about sidechain by other filter sections? For example you may control dynamics of filter section №6 by filter section №1 and etc. I think it would be awesome! :)

wow, great idea!
this would be a credit to its name "Flex".

how about that jeroen?

Anyone else getting a quick jump when trying to adjust the upper (above threshold) part of the compression curve? It always jumps instantly from -0 to around -3 or so db for me. I really can't seem to set it between those two numbers, but after that it is smooth.

Also, I kind of miss the continuous stereo image slider per band on the earlier version. The L/R/M/S button is useful, but I like being able to make finer adjustments too.

that's the magnetic behaviour for quick resetting to 0.
press shift for finer increments. the manual covers all the other options of keyboard and mouse.
