um ok.

Although im not sure what a customer class society is.

We have a Subscription service for our over 200 hours of tutorials and those folks get discounts on all our products. if that is what you are referring to?

We ask for an email address as we have been the targets of spam in the past. You can choose to be added to our newsletter for info on updates etc. or you can opt out. all pretty standard stuff.

If you really dont want to give your email address to see if the synth is worth taking a look at we have a bunch of videos on our youtube channel like the one above with plenty of info to show what the synth can do.

Judging from this page http://www.sonicacademy.com/Compare+Plans/ one does not get technical support when not subscribing to one of your additional plans, or at least not priority support, whatever that is.
That is just not my way. I am for all or nothing. When I pay the product price, I expect to be entitled to everything, not some secondary kind of support or whatever.
And what does registering for a demo version have to do with you being the target of spam?! Why can virtually all the other developers offer the free demo versions on their sites for download, while you can't?

That page is referring to the tutorial subscription where we have a subscriber only forum for tutors to give feedback on subscribers tracks or get help any music tech issues they might be having.

We obviously give full support on all our products and in fact in our recent survey most people rated our customer service as excellent.

There are plenty of software developers who request and email for Demos... Native Instruments being one from the top of my head.

Its also good business practice to encourage users to make accounts so they can easily post to the forums or if they do have issues we can fix things for them through their accounts.

If making accounts isnt for you thats cool. although you could have probably made one in the time it took us to discus it.

It's not about time, it's about principle. I won't test/buy any Arturia stuff either, for the same reason.

If I don't buy a product, I don't need access to forums etc.

Well, your business, or lack thereof :hihi:

There are a lot of great commercial synths outhere with a killer sound, but nothing like Sylenth. I love the Tone2, U-He and Synapse synths, but they have their own thing. What (IMO) makes Sylenth so powerful is the friendly GUI which makes it easy to work with even as a beginner and most important the miriad of soundbanks/presets for it that make it very, very versatile - so you can spend the money on just 1 VST synth and in exchange you get a music factory that can cover any genre at a stellar sound quality (again, IMO). And equally important, is easy on the CPU compared to its competitors (at least on my 8 years old PC).

That being said, you can never have enough synths, so if I were you I'd try all the demos of the well-known synths and buy the one that fits your type of music/sound best. Only you can decide exactly what works for you or not ;)

Exactly.

Can we just use this as an auto answer for all sylenth1 replacement threads now?

Native Instruments asks for an email address to download their demos.
Not a big deal to me.

Izotope does the same thing, so it's not uncommon.

Or create a separate e-mail id for downloading demos only ;-)

Zebra Does anything very warm sound.

DIVA gets a JP 8000 oscillator in June so will be the best supersaw on the market software or hardware as well as having some of the best vintage synth modules already included.

Harmor hard to program but amazing pads and arpy bass. Also great for dubstep and weird trancy stuff.

Sylenth1 had a minor update so it could be licenced with Windows 8. other than that it doesn't need another update. Lennar could be making a replacement synth or something to compliment it who knows.

Jupiter 8 hasn't had an update since 1984 and there is nothing wrong with it and is still killer today.

Haven't tried it myself, but Spire gets a lot of rave lately.

Ha Ha I haven't checked this thread in a while but still see the same people saying the same thing. So I will too...:) There still is as of today no synth that can replace Sylenth1 for its sound. Yes, some have better/more features but not the sound. Every month in Computer music another top DJ/Producer/Artist is interviewed and show how they make a certain song. In their kit list Sylenth1 is almost always listed first as their indispensable weapon. It's so matter of fact that if you want "that" sound from bass to supersaw it's Sylenth 1 that will deliver and not kill your computer.
