Yes, I also wasn't able to reprogramm all sounds with the same degree of authenticity. Some of the effect sounds even couldn't be done since OP-X PRO-II hasn't the same parameter set as Jupiter-8.

Btw, I think it would be a bit easier to compare and switch forth and back between original and clone if you listed the examples as single clips next to the originals as it was done in the OP-X PRO-II vs. Jupiter-8 thread:

If one owns the original synth (unfortunately I don't own a Jupiter-8, but some other ones including an OB-X) the most fun is always to post the whole as blind A:B test. In this OB-X vs. OP-X PRO-II thread only 3 of 8 people were able to hear which one is the original, and this (as they admitted) only because the recordings of the original showed some revealing noise:

Well in the end thats around 60 A/B comparisons, ( only around 30 atm ) so this would mean 120 different clips ( and 120 clicks for users ) so I prefered to do it another way, where people can hear all the pairs in 4 simple clicks.

When time allows, I'll provide some youtube videos where I will warn when the real Jupiter plays, and when Oxium plays. ( but before that I have still to finalize the last two demos with the remaining 30 A/B clips )

All in all, I'm not so interested in blind tests, and/or trying to fool people. A lot of these blind tests have other purposes than strict and neutral comparisons, like people wanting to prove "something" ( Like ""VA is better/worse/equal than analog" , or "nobody can make the difference between analog and VA nowadays" ), and I know the limits of such tests.

I have nothing to prove. I just made this work so that people can at least have some valid and numerous starting points comparing a real analog synthesizer and a VA synthesizer. To recall anybody who could be interested, the real sound of the analog synthesizers, or lets say one analog synthesizer, as they were very different, what they were used for in this era, and how the JP8 factory library reflects all that. Cultural elements. And, of course, to show what Oxium is capable of, as you probably did your clips also to show what your baby could do in this field also.

I prefer youtube to soundcloud, because I can add some comments, and I will certainly do it because I want to point out the structure differences between the JP8 and Oxium, when it explains something. And you can forward/reward/

To be honnest I posted the mp3 because 1/ its faster ( videos take time to do ) and 2/ because I was sure that if I only posted youtube videos, some people would have said that " youtube sound is rubbish so all this work has no value/interest etc " ) Video will come later.

Then, some people also question Soundcloud sound, compression etc. Soundcloud you must pay. Soudncloud is slow. And I spend enough time on the internet to want to deal with another social thing, even if its specialised in music. So if I can avoid it in the future : No soundcloud

Simply right-click on a clip and open it in a new tab, that way you'll be able scroll back and forth.

You can just have a soundcloud account to post samples. Don't need to be more social than that.

I finally installed Oxium 1.5 and also got access to the "Inspired by Jupiter" bank now.
Many thanks to Xavier for adding it to my Xils Lab account as i have an Oxium NFR due to Beta testing.
My first impressin on the Jupiter bank is really good. I just checked a few sounds (of course including the famous Brass sounds...) and it sound quite "real" to me.
Nice work, Laurent.

I'll try to compare those to my own Jupiter 8 patches in Arturia jupiter 8V which are still "work in progress" as just reprogramming the patch sheets (which is finished a long time) did not seem to be enough.

Maybe you have to register it. You'll need the Order No. and the serial number for that i guess. Where have you purchased it or did you get a NFR copy?

I had purchased e.g. PolyKB II at Don't Crack and not at Xils Lab directly so i had to register it manually.

For me Oxium was not in my account too (like the other 3 synths are) because i got a NFR license for Beta testing. I sent an Email to Xavier and he has added the Jupiter soundset (and Oxium too) to my account now.

Actually it looks like the registration page is way out of date anyway - it only has the 3 earlier synths, not the later ones or fx. I will email Xavier I guess.

yes its possible that the script deosnt work for beta testers. Please post here or in the Xils-Forum if you encounter such a problem.
