Glitch update 2.0.2 is now available at http://illformed.com/

Some important bug fixes for all platforms, plus improved host transport sync (especially in Logic Pro), and a few other minor tweaks.

@Ah_Dziz and @soundpalace: Both of your issues should be fixed now in update 2.0.2. Could you give it a try and let me know?

Cheers,
K.

In Ableton Live the sync on a single channel is "quite ok" (not surgically precise thou)
on groups or master channel the sync is still terrible.

Sorry, but I simply haven't been able to replicate this myself in Live. I was testing for a few hours today in both Live 8 and Live 9, but all seemed fine. The effects in Glitch were triggering in time as they should, and it remained in sync when I skipped around Live's timeline to different random points. I've also tried switching scenes in Glitch by routing in notes from a MIDI track, and didn't run into any obvious problems there, either.

If you can give me some clear and detailed steps for how to reproduce the problem you're experiencing, then I'll look into it again anyway.

You said in your earlier post that "mostly it's a little bit off sync, sometimes just goes random.". Could you elaborate on that a little bit more? What in particular sounds off to you? Are the effects in Glitch definitely not triggering on the beat, or is just that something about the effect itself sounds a bit off to you? And what do you mean exactly by "just goes random"?

It's now behaving perfectly in Logic, thanks for the fix!

Yes I think because logic has it's own latency compensation for plugins,
works fine here too.

Glitch has zero audio processing latency, so I don't believe that should be the cause of any problems in Live. Not when running on its own anyway. At the very least, it should not be more out of sync than any other plugin. But I wonder if you've experienced something similar with any other sequenced effect plugins?

If it's working fine in Logic, that's at least something good!

I wonder what's different between your Live and Logic setups? Could be worth double-checking all the settings in each?

That's because of the environment, having a full session rather than few tracks.

40+ tracks should work fine,
group some of them, add random fx,
insert glitch on a single channel (before all fx chain) (timing = "ok")
then try on a group, (timing = off beat 55ms +-)
then on the master channel (timing a little more than offbeat)

The modulator at 880hz will result in a pretty decent test,
and as I said maybe it's an ableton issue 'cause in Logic it works fine after the update.

The title of this thread should be changed. I've seen it on and off the past days and just assumed that version 2 for Windows was out. I have been without this baby for 5 years now. Can't believe it is finally on my mac. Yay!!

Post

I hope this should clarify the issue in live:

normal session 30+ tracks

Options ---> Delay Compensation = On
Whole tracks are in sync, glitch is offbeat

Options ---> Delay Compensation = Off
Whole tracks are offsync, glitch is perfectly timed with metronome

+1, shall test tonight, thanks so much!!!

2.0.2 seems to be perfect in Logic Pro. Stays in sync regardless of what position you start playback from. This makes the plugin so more usable, thank you so so much!!! :)

Oh my beloved Glitch, welcome back baby! <3

P.S.: The distortion types are awesome, I think I'll be using those alone on synths too :)

Excellent! That's great to hear. :)

I want to confirm that glitch works flawlessly in Logic Pro 9.1.8 Osx 10.6.8 and 10.8.2.

Did also a "stress test" with an enormous remix session & the plugin stays unbelievably in sync regardless of the load.

The issue I'm experiencing in ableton it's not glitch2 related,
as it happens also on Lfotool or VPSMultibandSidechain sync like plugins, I don't know if there is a workaround for this, it's not hitting my workflow as I work exclusively with ableton rewired into logic, but I think pure ableton users will have a problem with huge sessions.
