Unsync from host / Sync to midi event?

Can Kirnu sync to a midi event instead of the host play position? I was trying to do something simple / interesting:

send kirnu a midi note and have it do a div (divide) so that it takes a C3 for example and spits out two 1/32 C3 notes because the div is set to 2 on the first step and the tempo is at 1/16, so kirnu becomes a psuedo-midi-remixer that can do certain functions to individual midi notes rather than requiring sustained midi notes/chords to function.

If this feature is already available, let me know, I just couldn't seem to figure it out... no "unsync" button that I could see.

GOT IT!

Setttings --> Start notes immediately. sweeeet! Now I can use kirnu to do specific things to my midi based on note channel it receives.

tip: if you set kirnu input as midi channel 2, do not set the output as midi channel 1. Just make the output midi channel 2 or any other unused channel. If a synth is receiving channel 1 midi from you and Kirnu Cream simultaneously, midi notes (the same two notes) will cancel each other out even if they aren't played exactly at the same time. This is a general midi problem, not a Kirnu problem. So just keep the channels separate when possible.

HOWEVER, If you and Kirnu Cream send two same notes to U-he Tryell-N6 that are directly adjacent in time (not exactly at the same time, but nearly so), notes will cancel out, even if they are on different channels. This must be due to some weird note stealing or stuck-midi-note prevention thing in Tyrell-N6. Maybe Tyrell accepts all channels but then combines them into one before going into the synth, causing notes to be cancelled out when they shouldn't.

EDIT: IN CONCLUSION: The best way to do it is to allow Kirnu to accept ALL incoming midi before going to your synth. So, just set it up to allow channel 1 to be the channel where it does not affect your midi sequence if you want that.

You've probably seen my wild patterns trick youtube video (just search it, you'll find it somewhere down the list on youtube). I would like to make another similar video to go more in depth on how Kirnu can be used NOT as an arpeggiator, but as an on-the-fly midi-sequence mangler.

Thanks man for this info!
Really appreciated.

That new video would be cool :)

For others: You can find the video here as well other Cream videos too:
