Cheers mate, That is just what I found to ring true here also :)

getting a lot of crashes here (mostly on startup) just sent off 5 reports from the last couple of days :(

Post

Start live in administrator mode solves a lot of problems . Use the 64bit version as Live 32bit will crash every time it hits the 3.5GB RAM limit.

Post

Yep using admin mode here.. Usually crashes about every 3rd time I'm starting it so nothing to do with the ram issues I assume

Post

Is there something in the startup template that live doesn't like? Try killing the indexing in the task manager when starting live.

Post

I used to get problems with live crashing while scanning my whole drive for vsts on start up so I put them all in a folder called 64bit plugins and told live to only ever scan that folder. If you are using 32bit version and your trying to open a project that is 3.5GB or over then it will crash while trying to open that project every time.

no, i usually only have small projects so far...
i'm using 9.0.1 and i just noticed 9.0.2 is available, so i'll probably grab it.
one thing a bit annoying is i can't find a version history anywhere on their site to see what may have changed.. do they not release that or am i just blind?

Anyone know what happened with 9.0.3? I downloaded and installed last week (?) but when I checked for updates last night we're back on 9.0.2

:?:

It got pulled by Ableton for being "a bit buggy"; was supposed to be re-released this week when they'd fixed it, but looks like they're taking their sweet time about it.

Thanks. Its been OK here apart from taking a long time to launch and a bit slow sometimes.

Anyone using Push? Load times are much slower with Push connected. I guess the scripts have to load or do extra work with Push fired up. It takes a few minutes to load Live9 every time now. I'm getting a bit sick of the beachball...

Post

yea Ive seen it take an extra 10sec or so if I leave my push off, then turn it on after Ive started ableton. You can see a spinning/beachball/(whatever your os does) that its thinking while it loads up all the scripts for push.

Live 9 64-bit is pretty useless in my opinion as a VST host since it still can't load 32-bit and 64-bit plugins natively.

So I'm left with uninstalling Live 9 64-bit and reinstalling 32-bit just to use the majority of my VSTs, or using J-bridge/wrappers which is non-optimal, just for compatibility reasons.

So if you plan to use 64-bit PLAY etc. (pretty common these days!) be warned you are going to 'lose' all your 32-bit VSTs unless you do a bunch of workarounds or downgrade.
