Nice update. You should have mentioned that the "new" templates costs "mo money". Perhaps you did but there was no notice as I attempted to load "new" templates to see what new updates were available.

I knorw it is all about the cash and I don't blame you. A little heads up would be appreciated.

There's a big discussion going on over at http://discchord.com/blog/2013/1/7/midi ... pdate.html ref this update regarding the bad communications ref IAP's.

I honestly don't believe you intended to communicate badly but the lack of clear communications regarding the IAP modules and exactly what the user gets if/when they update to 'Pro' is creating a lot of negativity.

I can see that you've put a lot of hard work into this update but you need to communicate the 1.2 Pro product better.

I went to http://wiksnet.com/ to find out exactly what's included with new 'Pro' upgrade and what modules are included with the 'custom layouts' feature so I could compare it to Lemur & TB Midi Stuff (both of which I own) and found that any supporting documentation was non-existent.

Much as I love what you have achieved with Midi Studio so far, I'm not willing to blindly pay for the 'Pro' update without knowing exactly what I'll be getting for my money.

I look forward to your response.

Just read the first post, and everything is crystal clear.

I will post a mini review shortly. I've just got the Pro version, and so far it's incredible.
In my first test I'm controlling Magellan's pad, playing both both it's keyboards, and effects, all from this one app.
And the smoothness and responsivness is a joy!

It was clear for me since the begining too...

Some questions:

Can I send sysex with pro?
Can I set variables, like one knob dials through 1 to 16 and a button sends a midi note on the channel the knob is dialled to?
Can I specify not only the midi messages pro issues out on controls, but a different midi message a pro control reacts to?
Can I use my own graphics, like background, knobs, faders etc?

Is the DAW control fully mackie control compatible, including sysex handshaking?
Can the daw control graphics be changed, to use a custom "overlay" for sonar for example, instead of using the default?

Wondering if anyone can help. I'm trying to get the Surface template working in both Live and Cubase. I've followed the instructions and am able to get one-way control working; however, I can't get anything back from the DAWs (no timecode, no button states, etc.). Anyone encountered this problem? I thought enabling sync would do the trick, but no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steven

I saw that the pro version is on sale today. Does it come with all the IAPs or do I still have to buy a bunch of random crap? Can someone who purchased it clarify?

Midi studio standard, Pro and DAW control are all on sale.
I think you do get everything with the Pro version, although there are still a couple of IAPs, which I think are so that you can create other or edit the existing layouts, but not 100% sure, as I only have the standard version but uninstalled it a while ago due to the install size.
I can say that when I did use it, I was happy with it and it was nice looking and easy to use.
