Do I need to manually xfade giga piano samples in HALion?

Hi all,

I've been playing with a bunch of different piano sample sets and to date, none of them have sounded "right". It dawned on me just now that this is because the samples are not velocity-xfaded, so when I hit a key hard-ish and when I hit a key harder-ish, the sound is completely different (because two different samples are played). Playing of a MIDI file then just plain sounds awkward.

I'm still using the Steinway B set I had before, now in HALion. It was converted from the giga format to fxp using CDXtract. Is there anything I need to do with the converted sample set before it is supposed to sound right? Am I supposed to have to fix the crossfading manually?

Thanks for any help.
