I finally installed Oxium 1.5 and also got access to the "Inspired by Jupiter" bank now.
Many thanks to Xavier for adding it to my Xils Lab account as i have an Oxium NFR due to Beta testing.
My first impressin on the Jupiter bank is really good. I just checked a few sounds (of course including the famous Brass sounds...) and it sound quite "real" to me.
Nice work, Laurent.

I'll try to compare those to my own Jupiter 8 patches in Arturia jupiter 8V which are still "work in progress" as just reprogramming the patch sheets (which is finished a long time) did not seem to be enough.

Glad you liked them. Took me a lot of time as all presets were recreated/tuned by ear.

Even for the presets that are less close to the original Jupiter clips, yes I think they still show a great and authentic "analog" flavor. They dont sound flat or 2D, and could be used as vintage in any mix.

I dont know if the Arturia parameters ranges/scalings are closer. They should be. What I can say now that the whole thinbg is over, is that Oxium filter was never the problem to recreate the JP8 presets ( except the combinations with the HPF, as the HPF seems to be a bit different but the 24db is ok and the rez too ). It can reall sound quite close. But I'll enter more into details later.

Also I'll answer your PM more in detail tomorrow, because I can"t listen to soundclips in good conditions until I'm back home ( only have some crappy micro headphones, and its really a pita to listen to anything atm )

This is so obvious for me that I forgot it couldn't be so for others.
I agree that some more informations are needed :

To install the IBJ9 sound set (Only compatible with the 1.5.0 and later version of Oxium), just follow the next steps :
_ Download the zip file
_ unzip it somewhere
_ launch Oxium in your DAW
_ within the first preset menu, select "import bank"
_ browse to the "Inspired By Jupiter 8.eox" file

By sorting your preset by bank, you will be sure it works by seeing the new created bank.

Hi Christophe,

You must use the "Import Soundbank" function, found at the bottom of the first menu top left of the preset management bar. Just browse to the HD where you put the Jupiter soundbank file, and you're done, they will appear at once in Oxium.

An .eox file can be one preset, but also a whole bank of hundreds of patches, like PandemOxium. Oxium will take care of that and extract the patches in the right directory.

Bank management is very flexible in Oxium, and in all Xils synths, and you can use these functions to back up your own patches in a very fast way, to manage projects like all patches used for a particular live event, CD, patchbank, tracks etc.

Flexible always means a bit of complexity, so I've made a tutorial for Oxium preset management system, and you can watch it on Xils Youtube channel, or on Xils site in Oxium's Video page. Imho its well worth spending a few minutes to look at it, cos sometimes a video will learn people more than burying the nose in the manual for 1/2 hour

Have searched for it for a long time now with no luck

These only make me want a JP8 even more. They sound nothing alike. Of course you can tell that your settings are the same but the sounds is massively lacking in the XILS in comparison. Reminds me of an OB-X video I saw vs OP-X. Even though the settings were the same the tone was anything but similar. I wish it wasn't the case as I'd rather use software.

Good, so just buy a Jp8. Its a wonderfull machine. Its btw an owner of such a wonderfull machine who first got my attention on the similarities that it could share with Oxium.

Btw, you certainly know wich parts were played by the Jupiter and wich ones were played by Oxium. So that we can see when the sound is *massively lacking* in comparison ?

Then you completely missed the point. I clearly stated that all presets were tuned by ear, so who talked about "settings" ( except you )

Or nice idea also, just redo the parts with another softsynth, and try to do better, equal, worse, and try to prove *something*
