Just some quick feedback for 2Caudio here: The one instance limitation of the demo is rather unfortunate and will likely not help sales.

So my question: Why?

I like to be able to test how it sounds/behaves with it on multiple tracks, different algorithms, maybe an insert on one and a send as well, that kind fo thing.

In general I think the more you cn make it so that someone might accidentally use it to the point of needing in a particular track, the better your chances are for making the sale.

Awesome. I'm looking forward to testing when the new version comes out, hopefully it can make it into that beta.

Andrew, If I can make another suggestion: It would be great if B2 would only have latency when using the modules requiring latency, which I assume are the attitude/dynamics/saturation stuff. Although 64 samples isn't much, if you've got B2 on a return track and an insert, it is adding 128 samples of latency. I have my buffer at 128 in Ableton Live so every plug-in already adds 128 samples of latency by default in addition to the audio i/o, so I try to keep the total plug-in count in any given sequence of effects (any one track including send and master effects ) to around around 4 or else I start to get into the 20-30 ms range. Live compensates overall but not rhythmic effects and automation, so I don't want to get into any noticeable latency, and I also play live into it. So B2 adding 128 by using an instance on any track and a send is, for me, equivalent to one addition plug-in anywhere in the sequence of effects.

Not the end of the world by any means. It would just be nice to only have that additional latency if actually using the modules that need it. I know this has been mentioned before but I just wanted to articulate it while I was thinking about it.

As promised today we have Breeze 1.2.0 ready to try. It now has all of the same updates as B2 received last month, namely:

Breeze 1.2.0 Systems Enhancements:
  • OSX 64-bit AU and VST support
  • Completely new and modernized GUI and systems internal code-base for both OSX and Windows
  • Minor memory leaks which could lead to crashing in complex projects have been fixed
  • Load times are much faster and are effectively instant from SSD drives

  • GUIs are now processed on the GPU instead of the CPU so it should be VERY responsive on modern OSs and Hosts

  • "Load Last" preference allows automatic recalling of the last used preset settings.

  • Two minor improvements were made to DSP were made which can improve "sound quality" in some cases.
Breeze 1.2.0 Preset Browser Enhancements:
  • Packages & Sub-Folders organization scheme
  • Unlimited Packages & Unlimited Sub-Folders
  • Scroll bars (when needed) for presets and folder browser
  • Keyword search across selected folders
  • Import Package, Import User Sub-Folder, and Import Preset functions
All of the above is designed to make the preset browser much more powerful and to allow us, and you, to develop more preset expansions. All limits on content totals have been removed. Additionally we have made it very easy to share single or multiple presets with the online community. This is really cool stuff. Keyword search is very useful!

This version is something in-between a beta and a final public release. It should be as stable as a final release. We simply intend to add AAX support very very soon, so we are considering this all part of the same update cycle. Once AAX is done, there will be another version available and this will be the final official release. It should be no different than this version for VST and AU users.

New Demo versions available shortly...

AAX support is currently being finished for Breeze, B2, and Aether. All of the above enhancements are currently being made to Aether as well. We are in the final phase of this update cycle now. Thanks for sticking with us during this labor intensive transition to fully updated systems standards.
We did not make a new demo yet though, as we are working on Aether...

It's not an "official" release - the notification was given on the Breeze thread.

I'm sure we'll all be notified when the "official" updates for Aether and Breeze arrive ;-)

Yes we did not email all customers yet. We are waiting until Aether is also done and we have demo versions available. And AAX. Then everyone will be emailed.

It also allows us to use this period as an extended beta period to be sure everything is rock solid with all the new systems code. It looks to you guys that nothing has changed for the most part, but basically all the systems and GUI code is 100% different, so it is good to have this in the wild a little bit before we fully commit to the final version. That said, it looks like we did a good job and we have not really found any issues thus far with the initial Breeze version that we gave out a few weeks ago.

Aether is up and running for us. But it required moving around some DSP code also to conform to our latest standards, in additional to all the systems changes, so it is taking a few extra days to debug etc, before we let you guys try it...
