Poor old FXPansion Geist and Tremor.

I think Geist has issues though, needs a bigger gui, functionally it's similar to maschine so to have that tiny gui is not good for longer loops and song mode imho. I'm waiting to see what they do with version 2. In a sale it's a no brainer but full price i'd look at other options like a mikro or spark le if you don't already have a controller...

Geist is a bit scary on a first look. At least I get scared! I was used to battery and ableton drum racks. But the workflow of geist and the onboard sequencer really fits my workflow. I love it

Nothing is really wrong with them. There are just newer better plug ins. Example I would take Battery 4, poise, the mpc ren or maschine over Geist if money was not an issue. I use Maschine and/or battery and I have giest. I have tremor as well and I dig it but i gravitate towards my samples in maschine since I am already making most of my music there anyway.

I got both Geist and Maschine. While Maschine has/is a hardware controller i value them equally much .. should say something about how good Geist is
By the way, geist could use simple adsr knobs!!

I use Geist on every project now. Dont know why so much user are selling (?). I tried the demo with Tremor, i could achieve a hell of a techno track with it, although CPU consumption was high, but it was ok because the sound was great

"Geist" is the german word for "ghost" so maybe this is the reaction that FXpansion had planned.waltercruz wrote:Geist is a bit scary on a first look. At least I get scared!
On the other hand the word Geist in german language could be also translated as "mind".

MIDI out already exists in the VST versions of both Tremor and Geist.BERFAB wrote:+100V0RT3X wrote:If the Fxpansion gurus are watching this thread, I want them to add Midi out for both Tremor and Geist. If i could choose between just one it would be tremor.

what makes you vibe with Giest still after having Maschine? I haven't touched it since I got Maschine. Its a great plug in I have just become a slave to MaschineCrackbaby wrote:I got both Geist and Maschine. I think the term means loosely: Spirit of the Age. Or rather, the general feeling around the time.

Coined originally by Carl Jung, it's got to mean something profound. And if you want to understand Jung then study Alan Watts.
And if you just want the best software drum machine on the planet, then buy Geist.
I think you will find it has a rather large support base, even by critical thinkers.

True, Tremor also as I made a rack for Ableton you can pick up from FXPansion site forum.musikmachine wrote:Geist has midi out.V0RT3X wrote:If the Fxpansion gurus are watching this thread, I want them to add Midi out for both Tremor and Geist. If i could choose between just one it would be tremor.

I find it odd too, though I have been tempted to sell only because I have alot of the packs to go along with it, so if someone wanted the whole shebang, then it would be worth it.TheoM wrote: I find it weird though as $50 fee for an $129 product (found cheaper at resellers).. well.. why do these people sell? might as well keep it as you could probably only get $60 or $70 for it.. is $120 really worth it?
