Turnado breaking up terribly on iPad 2

I got it yesterday having seen 2 rave reviews on a Facebook group about it, but I can't get it to work without intermittent horrible sound breaking up. I made sure no other apps were running in the backgroup and it makes no difference, it's still breaking up and virtually unuseable. I have an iPad 2. I also shut down the app and restarted it. It still breaks up intermittently. Is there something that can be done to remedy this or do I have to ask for a refund? It's a shame because I was excited about all the possibilities but ....?

Works great on my iPad 2. But it's definitely possible to overload the iPad with the more demanding effects. There's a buffer setting in Turnado, try setting it at a higher value (I got it at 512 on my iPad 2).
Edit: Oh and the usual stuff, close all apps in the task bar. Reboot. Use the latest iOS (although they are working on a fix for iOS 5), no jailbreak etc..

Yes I had closed all the apps and have the latest iOS, and I haven't jailbroken.. I tried the buffer setting on 512 last night and it didn't seem to make a difference, it just went completely bananas making horrible screaming crackling noises and I switched it back again to the default buffer setting of 256 - but tried it again just now on 512 and on the current choice of effects it did make a difference. It does in that case look like a processing power problem - some of the effects will be a problem with the iPad 2, in spite of what anyone says. Thanks for clarifying that. I now have to have a longer play with it and decide whether to keep it or ask for a refund.. don't know how long it'll be before I can get a better iPad.. was waiting for the next new iPad to come out

No problems here on an iPad 2.
I had it running through Audiobus. I was using PH's Figure and Animoog as sources, then running through Tornado (at a buffer of 256) and recording into Samplr.
No Crackles or anything. I used multiple presets, swapped effects, used Dictator and X/Y pads. Again... no crackles at all (even with safari and mail apps open in background).
What version iOS are you on?
Edit... Just noticed that you said you had the latest iOS version.
Maybe try re-installing?

I have problems using it stand alone, even with high latency settings, but within audiobus, even with some other app(s) plus lemur sending midi like crazy it's all good (ipad2, 3, mini). A bit weird ... ?

I don't think I've tried Tornado without Audiobus yet. When I get back home, I'll definitely give it a try to see if I get similar weirdness.mbncp wrote:I have problems using it stand alone, even with high latency settings, but within audiobus, even with some other app(s) plus lemur sending midi like crazy it's all good (ipad2, 3, mini). Audiobus usually dictates the audio buffer for any subsequent apps, either it's 256 or 512 (on older iDevices like iPad 2 Audiobus sets it to 512). So might be that in standalone Turnado is set to a lower buffer (under settings)?

It seems to be at full price now.

Yeah. I just paid full price, but was worth it. Just got done playing with Alchemy Mobile 2 and Turnado running into speaker out with Audiobus. Haha. This is too cool.audiojunkie wrote:It seems to be at full price now.

This app is done really well. Wish they had landscape orientation instead of stuck to portrait, but definitely not a deal breaker.
Their forum states the limitations of iPad 2. If using a lot of fx at once it can bog down, but I don't plan on using all 8 at once ever.
