can somebody else confirm? i can't believe it. the deal is still available on their site and magix isn't a little company. what exactly they said in the mail?
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

This doesn't look like an MF issue, shouldn't this be a new thread?

Also, I just got a $15 off coupon from the US Magix site, that's good thru next Feb., if that helps anyone at all.

Just like Beat and Izotope Iris.

Those guys at Musician Friend need to watch their step in this matter, because I guess this qualifies as "mail and wire fraud" if they do not refund the unlucky buyers.

MAGIX 2 FOR 1 SPECIAL.

They wont deliver the second plugin.

I purchased this several days ago and finnally emailed them.
They acted like they didnt have the special that is listed on their web site.

Just a notice to be careful.
My goodness.. and they had a special for all the plugins for a special price not long ago.. but it involved email i think.

I wanted to buy this deal for te ammunition/amp pulse pack, etc, and choose variverb.
Name and shame, what did they say to you?

I think you just saved me $200

:hail:

Sorry you had to go through it yourself though.

If you put it on your CC, do a chargeback immediately.
I keep getting this email several times:

Dear customer,

Thank you for contacting MAGIX AG. We have received your email and our
Customer Service team will be responding to you soon.

You may also refer to our FAQs at
http://support2.magix.net/customer/en/faq for more information.

Please note our working hours is 0900 to 1730 from Monday to Friday and
we regret the delay in reply over the non-working hours.

If you want to add further information to this ticket, please make sure
to use the following subject line:

MAGIX Info Service

MAGIX AG
Borsigstr. 24

I sent them the order info as requested on the web page several times.

The purchase was Monday, this is Friday.

That is more then enough reasonable time to complete an order.

I have never experienced anything like this.

I am now in the process of taking some action, it will be interesting to
see if they make good.

Its REALLY PITIFUL

You have shopped much on the net? ;)

Do you have experience with Magix downloader, you can not have misunderstood how the product was to be delivered to you? When I bought a Magix product some time ago, it took a little while for me to figure out how I needed to get it, as I'm used to that a link to a zip/rar download is provided, and not that I need to install a downloader/installer on my PC.

TheoM wrote:Sorry just noticed something. Sparky, where are you located? Also, do you speak fluent German? (a google translator for example would not work as evidence.. they can rebut that)

You see, i could never see this on their english page and still can't. I have been told about this deal a few times from different members but they always link me to the German page and i think why did they do that.. and now it makes sense.. it doesn't exist on their English pages... which is strange i admit and no mention of country restriction..

It does however talk about *euros* and if i choose australia i pay in euros therefore would think i am part of that deal.

I dunno, i sent them an email a week ago telling them i was very interested in their plug in deal, but i wanted to know if they were resellable as i may be moving to PC by the end of the year, and if i do i'd probably choose sampl as a host and would get the plugins that way and wouldn't need the vst ones. They haven't replied :(
Actually, I followed the same link here from KVR.
The link was posted in Market place.

Yes, this is the German site, but they cannot discriminate.
If they offer a special they cannot say "only Germans can have this
deal, no Americans".

The order was placed from that Link so there should not be a problem.

Really, whats the big deal, if you offer a special, you honor it.

Anything else is just bad business.

The order conformation was sent to the same requested email in Germany,
they got it several times so they know this order was placed.

If they don't want to offer this special to anyone other then Germans,
they would be required to post any exceptions.

I am taking action so I am not worried, this is just a heads up to how
Magix does business.

Maybe MAGIX just needs some more days? Could be that someone from the customer service is ill or in vacation, and there is some retardation...

The emails you got are automatically sent out emails, so they still should respond...

1. I wanted to get Sugarbyte Effectrix, and nothing else. :!:
2. I was asked by a KVR member who asked another one from the USA to order the MF deal because the Sugarbyte Effectrix wasn't shippable to Germany. We wanted to split the deal, and I wanted to buy Effectrix, and the other one Toxic. As we were all disappointed because of the lack of Effectrix, our buyer has probably sent the Toxic license & the thumb drive back to MF.:(

If you had more licenses for Toxic than for Effectrix, then you should have counted them and made a quantity-limited offer ("only XX Effectrix licenses available"), and then you could have sold the rest of Toxic licenses in an other deal.
Hey Tricky-Loops,

I definitely see where you are coming from. We do not post our inventory publicly though there are several factors can lead to a sudden change in stock and inventory. In some case we are expecting future shipments at the time of the offer and a manufacturer will get back to us and inform us they were unable to fulfill our shipment. In any case we still want to help out where we can and we try to keep all of our customers in the loop with cancellations. I apologize for any disappointment with this offer and thank you all for your understanding. Feel free to email us Forums@musiciansfriend.com if you have any additional concerns.

Oh, don't I know it, I'm a major culprit! I just didn't want anyone tuning in late to think this was another MF foul. And a new thread might get Magix attention like this one did at MF.

And I'm keeping that coupon in my pocket, the full Independence is calling! See?!

what i've learned is: i'll jump on those special deals only if they coming from the developer directly. everything else is crap as we see.

If you can resist...

Most special low-price deals are offered by independent dealers because they want to guide people to their online shop in the hope that they'll buy something more. The developers themselves are trying to keep the prices (equal).

I've never had any big problem with deals, the MF out-of-stock issue was the first one regarding non-delivered, ordered products.
