They realized that Linplug RMV and Rob Papen Punch are the cool drum machinesProxima4 wrote:You have to ask.
Why is everyone selling Geist and Tremor?
I have both said plugins, back in the day, Guru was the S*** and everyone wanted it, then Geist came along.
But what happend?
Is their a Guru of Geist who can shed light on these poor drum machines and or some skill in using it, what are we missing.
I still think the automatic loop sliceing across the pads is very good, when you want to trial ideas.
What say you..

I think Tremor sounds absolutely awesome. I never heard of no hype, it was launched just as every other product gets launched (if you want hype, check out Tone2). I'm still excited about it, but I do think it's not very easy to use (compared to Microtonic, for example).TheoM wrote:

Are you sure you weren't talking about TremorS?

Tremor sounds fantastic. The sound quality and capability is as good as anything out there. You must be thinking of something else.TheoM wrote:

Hi TheoTheoM wrote:

I love Tremor. Check out the softer sound Tremor is capable of (warning: vintage sounds
Vintage Drum Machines in Tremor
But then, I love it's capability for little tech-house sounds:
Tech House stuff
or a fuller sound like this:
Progressive Tribe
but it does cool ambient noises too:
Ambient beats
You say that Tremor is easy to figure out, but I found it to be a complex beast!

I have to agree too, that Tremor sounds great (or can sound great). I wrote earlier that the only problem I found was that I could do what I wanted much faster using samples.ariston wrote:I think Tremor sounds absolutely awesome. And Microtonic is much easier. Not as flexible BUT it has a unique sound (something Tremor doesn't have), which is why it's still one of my absolute favorites. I even love my GoldBaby Microtonic samples (can't remember which library that one is).

everyone? i doubt it. ppl sell things they dont like or dont need (or sell everything out of need)Proxima4 wrote:

the thing is, all you see is a few 'for sale' posts on a forum...you dont see how many ppl buy products
over-reaction methinks.

EDIT Kriminal I agree with you (for the sake of sanity and coherency).Kriminal wrote:everyone? i doubt it. ppl sell things they dont like or dont need (or sell everything out of need)Proxima4 wrote:

I think there's a lot that goes on beyond what you see in a forum with sales and I am talking from personal experience. Need to open your mind somewhat at reasons purely beyond the negative facts of the sale. I've just sold and still selling a vast amount of software for various reasons.
Still have Tremor and not intending to move it on. Whilst I have Maschine, Battery, Groove agent(Cubase), Fruityloops to name a few, Tremor still has a place. I find I use it more for creating groove patterns and rhythmns to blend in with the main beat (well that's my approach with it anyway). Did try Geist as well as another I can't recall the name of now from a different dev' but didn't get on with them.
Saying that I got it at the promo price so guess I am stuck with it

For me it's a few things, the retro record is awesome, the swing is better as you have more templates. The built in fx are good, aren't etch and bloom based on the Geist and Tremor fx? I like building my own little fx chains to process loops and stuff anyway, and being able to swap out the audio or slices with rex loops is cool, don't think you can do that with maschine.KevWestBeats wrote:what makes you vibe with Giest still after having Maschine? I haven't touched it since I got Maschine. Its a great plug in I have just become a slave to MaschineCrackbaby wrote:I got both Geist and Maschine. While Maschine has/is a hardware controller i value them equally much .. should say something about how good Geist is
By the way, geist could use simple adsr knobs!!
I also think the drag edit modulation is great in Geist, and things like shift and repeat are great for adding groove and variation to loops. And yeah, it's great for sampling as well. And i only bought it for the samples.
