the new synths are pretty decent. embracer seems like decent string/pad machine - limited, but very good at what it does. i'm pretty happy with the upgrade so far.

Bahhh!
Cubase SL 2.0 had a bad bug... POST FADER INSERTS.
They never put out a fix for this(it was discovered in Feb) instead they said: "wait to the big update".
Well 3.5 months later the update is here.....
is it fixed?... NO!!!
The version of SL coming with system 4 has this
fix mentioned in the pdf.
I updated the "regular" version and... NO I still
got POST fader inserts.
And you SX guys got some new toys, we SL 2.0 customers got S**T.

This versions fixes a few problems with HUI control surfaces on Dual CPU Macs.(meaning if you have a HUI control with dual cpu there was bugs).
Further improvements in different areas of the application. (translates to bugfixes)
Improved sample rate switching for certain audio drivers (e.g. for LynxTwo cards). (means it works now)
Unused controls on control surfaces no longer create unwanted MIDI events (was bug, fixed)
OMF import and export is significantly improved.
(it's getting better)
need I go on.

no problem with midi timing down here.
thats as tiresome as "you must use ns10m's"
move along nothing to see
hey man, you must be an omen, my phone just rang offering me next gig, THANKYOU.

you're funny. at least we can have midi playback on time, and uhm, proper automtion at any latency. don't even compare those bugs you listed to the mammoth cubase ones.

Mind you, I don't see a fix for my particular problem: recording on a particular track in a particular song at a particular position reliably crashed the entire computer.
I ended up recording the guitar solo against one of the verses and moving it...

Steinberg's US website is a mess. Use the Canadian Steinberg site if you need up to date info.

If the old Cubase versions usability is any indication of things to come, then Cubase SX 3.72 will finally be pretty decent and Cubase SX 5.1 will be the killer app I've been always waiting for... *kidding*

Yeah, it really sucks for us SL users. However, Christian Dettner (Steinberg employee, forum moderator) wrote on the Cubase forum yesterday:ddummer wrote:Bahhh!

"Issue is (still) confirmed.
I will try to get an answer why the already made fix was not included in the released SL2.2 version."
Seems like a screw up somewhere by someone. Not that we should suffer, but still.

What's that bug ?? as SE is not based on SX2, I was considering buying SL2, but if there is a big bug...Z wrote:Yeah, it really sucks for us SL users. However, Christian Dettner (Steinberg employee, forum moderator) wrote on the Cubase forum yesterday:

"I have a problem with faders and insert effects in mix (Cubase SL2). Example: I inserted an effect (slot1 - Warp) in a track and when I move a fader it dont´n change a volume of the track (effect is not pre fader...), but it changes an amount of input gain to insert effect (in the case of Warp it is an amount of distortion). I read a manual, where is written that slot 1-4 for insert effect should be pre fader and only slot5 post fader... So where is a mistake? Is it a bug? Do you have a same experience?"
