Yep thanks, proceed, f**king crysonicsTheoM wrote:that's so flawlessly put. Thanks Brent. Perfect summary.koolkeys wrote:Here's the deal, and the biggest reason people are unhappy.
Crysonic at one point had all SynthEdit plugins, which obviously made them 32-bit only. They told people that 64-bit and Mac support was coming as they were hiring programmers to do it. And they did.
The problem? They told people WHEN THEY PURCHASED that these updates to 64-bit, etc. would be FREE UPDATES for current users. In fact, they had sale after sale after sale where they told people, "buy now, get the updates when they come". And people bought it.
One year passed, and then another, and then another........and then they finally started putting out the updates. The problem? They were not free as promised.
Not only that, but the versions they released did NOT work in many cases. And not only that, but they switched to a difficult manual challenge response system. So to get the updates people were promised DOZENS of times, they had to pay money, deal with buggy versions and switch to a new copy protection that was very restrictive.
I'm not even talking about customer service issues, or bugs, or anything else. Just that alone killed their reputation here. And there is nothing you can say that will dispute it.
Brent

You need to chill. You called me troll, insane, kill kill kill etc etc. Take it down a notch please. You are just proving my right about the overreaction aspect I claimed.TheoM wrote:that music has perfectly explained your anger at us. Now i get it after listening to it. I am a fan of their plugs and use at least 2 of them for everything I do.
I used Sindo and spectraphy V2 on this:

That's what that "song" felt like.

Actually, not at all.
It sure isn't surprising that if there is a new deal, then the Crysonic thread is being bumped. Which thread doesn't matter, it just happens.
What then happens is a debate over the good and bad, the mudfights, etc. The usual. But we underestimate one thing:
If we talk about a company, and even if it's to warn people about heir schemes, it's free advertising.
So the sale departement would be plain stupid not to use this in their advantage. Like GroupBuy sales - the more interest, the longer the waiting times, the more chances you see some goodies.
In this particular example:
We talk about a company. People that didn't have any experience with that particular company yet take a closer look. If they then see "sale!", it's like a huge red blinking light that only stops doing so after you shelled out the desired funds.
BAM! Instant success, barely any efforts.

Waves have the so-called Waves Shell. All plugin formats are identical within one version due to this unified shell. If you have non-64 Bit Waves plug-ins, they are older than Waves v9. However, all plugins are always adjusted to the latest shell. That's why you will still find the very first processors they ever released.thefyn wrote:Are you sure? Because I use waves...and not all are 64 bit.TheoM wrote: well it is obvious now you are trolling 100%. Waves has been 64 bits for a while now

LOLZ!
Anyways, I'm pretty sure any and all waves can be x64. I mean, at the very least most of them. Oh edit, saw the "shell" explanation. Well, that means they are x64 then right?
Who cares anyways? This is an old thread, that got bumped, and went back to toxic.
lock it....lock it.....lock it......

Oh, now that you mention it..thefyn wrote:
Thats it? They didn't bring out a 64 bit version? The 32 bit versions still work in my Sonar X1.
Speaking of Sonar, they have bugs too. Like hanging notes for a hell of a lot of VST synths like Razor etc etc. You mentioned NI..why do their synths hang so much in certain DAWS???. Do you want to ban those? How about sound toys? How long were they talking about 64 bit plugs?
Customer support? I reported the VST hang notes over a year ago to NI...There are a dozen threads dedicated to it...It's not fixed. When you work with bleeding edge software companies like these you should expect this type of thing.
Why didn't I think of that?
Thank you kindly for setting that straight. You are right and I am wrong.
