Preset-wise the old tarnce-head in me is melting away with some of the sounds and free noodling, especially some of the lead and pad sounds. But even getting into creating my own sounds, Spire is fun so far. Like the effects too.

So, if one would buy Spire now, would they receive the next update, including arp / step sequencer for free?

Sure , don't worry :)

As someone suggested, you may want to either start a new thread or change this one to say Spire Synthesizer, Now Available or something to indicate it is now out.

Seems to be quite buggy in FL Studio. Need to use fixed buffering settings to get this working okay. Still, the release decay is buggy sometimes, especially when you are changing the presets. We are in 2013 and this synth doesn't have mousewheel support for the knobs... Some of the presets sound ultra super thin, but some sounds okay. Some presets are insane for the CPU.. Meh.. Don't beat sylenth. Not even close. This would be good synth, if this would have released on like 2007..

Edit: Pad presets sounds wonderfully, but the cpu usage is just insane.. Also the low's sounds good in this synth. The problem seems to be in mids and highs. Especially highs. Sounds weird and ulta thin.

Mouse wheel support seems to be working on the Mac. Some presets do use a lot of CPU, but overall the synth sounds really good to me so far.

No hassles yet with S1 here. Looking forward to the Arp and Step function.

Is the demo bank not the full bank ?
Was hoping to check out the Praga Khan/T99/Sperminator style orchestral stabs i heard in one of the demos
Duh

Very nice sound ! Some presets are heavy on cpu (have a quad core). Spire is pretty good in doing bass sounds also. What i would like to know, how many presets will be there and a sneak preview of arp/step would be nice

Nice synth
Fantastic FX section
Couldn't you make a VST out of it?

will test tonight, but a quick look at the presets and ....meh

you'd think a synth with that much flexibility would have better sounds than a 303, 2 hoovers and kick drums in the factory bank

have to see what it can really do myself, im sure its more capable than those tedious sounds.

I had a gander at the presets and they don't really do the synth justice. But that often seems to be the way with quite a few soft synths. They are good, but offer 'not so good' presets.

That said, I don't ever use presets anyway. So, I was quite happy with the sounds I was able to make with Spire. Plus I like the FX section too.

Very nice synth so far so I've now purchased it... :D

I definitely made some pretty cools pads with it. Works great under ableton live 9.

Glad to see its finally out!

WIth Spire I think you just need to hit the init button and program away. Fantastic interface for programming sounds, and lots of modulation possibilities. They have created a pretty deep synth with a very simple interface.

Also, since I like these types of sounds, Spire let's you simulate Hypersaw and Supersaw with Unison. Check page 6 of the manual. It's easy to get Spire to sound like a Virus. I own one so I'd say I'm pretty familiar with the sound. Once again, I like the sound of the Virus too.

The built in Delay and reverb sound nice, although I haven't managed to get the Shaper section to add anything I like yet. I'll keep trying and see what happens. I also need to dig into the Phaser and Vowel and Chorus and Flanger sections. The filters seem to open up well. So far I like the sound of Spires filters, and we'll see how that goes as I dig deeper.

I've only had time to try programming lead sounds, and plan to go at some bass next.

A few things I think could be improved:

* 64 bit version for the Mac
I hope to see the 64 bit version for the Mac very soon, although Spire is working just fine using the built in VST Bridge with Cubase 64-bit version on Mac OS X.

* preset management
I never liked Sylenth's preset management, and Spire's is reminiscent. This is a great synth for programming your own sounds and it should come with a preset management system to match.

I really really love the interface, and Spire could make my Virus more than a tad jealous at times.

Bottom line, this Spire gets an enthusiastic thumbs up and a buy from me.
