Maybe a vocoder with white noise... Don't think there is a specific (free) plug for that....
edit: I do remember a plugin called 'shaker maker' or something (I think it was from a kvr developer challenge some time ago), maybe if you take the vocal, run it trough that plug and then vocode the original vocal with your new file, or mix them together combined with some heavy eq... No idea if it would give the desired result though.

There is an old bundle of free fft based plug ins that had something that could do this by manipulating phase. I think it was from one of the smartelectronix developers.

What happends if you just use a HP filter EQ, and leave only above a certain frequency.
Or a notch filter, to attenuate fundamental for the octave, would leave very low and highs.
Just guessing...never needed the transformation.

I have it going in Pif vocoder right now. To get this free plugin Google search around, I know it's there just not at the original site.
Switch one osc to noise.

It's not a real-time effect, but SPEAR will do a great job of this. Once you've got your analysis, there's a slider which will let you rebalance the tonal and noise components of your signal. Slide it all the way to noise and voila. http://www.klingbeil.com/spear/

Always coveted these plugs as a Windows user. Ah well, guess it's only fair you Mac guys and girls get mindblowing freebies once in a while. I'm pretty sure I've got most of these spectral bases covered across the software I've got, but how nice it would be to have this toolset in one place and working in real-time...TheoM wrote:WOW nice find, thanks realmarco.. gonna give those babies a test drive.. 24 free spectral plugins.. mac only too! awesome
