On many sample libraries there is pops clicks in the beginning of the waveform.
In the middle of the sound. And it can be anywhere in the wav file.

There is too many samples to fix.
They use bad microphones.
They have bad ears since they can't hear very short sounds.
They use bad speakers/headphones.

I have spent (1,815.72 USD) on sample libraries.

The positive things are:
Good sound quality.
Gives inspiration.
Nice GUI interface.
Convolution reverb.

The negative things are:
Too much treble.
Pops/clicks on random samples.
Long loading times.
No loop points.
Unstable stereo image.

I spend less on sample libraries and I've never had a problem with clicks and pops...

If you don't have your sample libraries on a dedicated high-speed hard drive, and especially if you have them on the same hard drive where your OS is on, that's what you get. This very much sounds like you're getting dropouts when streaming from the hard drive because it cannot catch up with reading.

Which sample libraries are we talking about here?

Oh, you really need a very powerful computer then, because PLAY is definitely much more inefficient sampler than Kontakt. If we're talking about Hollywood Strings, you will want it on an SSD. What's your computer configuration?

And which hard drive/s? Be specific - exact model, brand, size. This stuff is important.

You should also definitely upgrade to Windows 7 x64 and a better audio interface, too.

Does not help since the pops clicks are in the exactly same place every time play i the same note again.

Nothing wrong with my computer.
Happens in the standalone too.

If I were you I would get edison.You could stretch out the waveform try to find out what is causing the clicking but it would probably be easier to use the declicker.If the stereo image is whack just put it into mono.If its like a guitar sample just mono it create two copys then pan them.Also the eq on edison is very precise so that could solve the treble problem I suppose.

I'm sure Play runs fine for some, but the OP's problem is why I'm not willing to invest in Play. I run Kontakt and Engine libraries just fine off my partitioned internal harddrive. It's just a standard 7200 drive with my OS on C and samples (and a bunch of other crap) on D and E partitions. Judging by most reports about Play, it seems what Evil Dragon is saying is basically what you need to do.

File a complaint/bug report with their help desk. Perhaps they can help you. They are not very fast, but if it takes too long, look for a user called EastWestLurker, and see if he can smooth things out.

If you are streaming from a drive and you have disk fragmentation, there will be a point in file reads where the heads have to jump to read more of the file. If the seek is too slow, you will get a click point and it will be the same point in the file (or in the song you are playing back) until you defrag the file. Advice for using streaming samples with rotating disks is usually:
- use a fast disk and a dedicated samples drive or partition
- make sure to defrag before and after installing a large library so that the whole set is on a contiguous region of the disk.
A decent SSD will beat any rotating disk.

Your sound card buffer size is also a factor. If you are running really low buffer size (eg 128 samples or less) you will get more problems with streaming. In Kontakt, you can buffer more of the files in RAM and make things a little easier for the system at the expense of RAM footprint. Not sure what Play allows.

I happen to get those clicks a lot.

Win-7 64bit
Intel Core i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40
16,0 GB ram
SSD-drive (ATA Samsung SSD 830 SCSI Disk Device)

-> Symphonic Choirs (+ newest update)

Close & Surround mics are essentially unusable because of bad loop point & clicks. Normal mic works fine.

Why do i get pops/clicks on most sample libraries?
