Have you ever thought about that the pre-order time is needed to both get the initial release rock solid (as much as possible) and also to prepare the official release including the final installers (multiple versions + plugin formats), the website+ links, audio demos, dealing with eLicenser and iLok about licenses etc. ?ChiTown24 wrote: Missed this quote.
Anyway, this is more 'flexibility' from Lotuzia. Is he really trying to act so coy about what happens when you send a newsletter ? ... As if he doesn't know that within 2 or 3 hrs of sending it there are threads about it in the forum{s}
Besides that there is also the Oxium group buy that has/had to be taken care of.
This is what Lotuzia meant when talking about tight/close deadlines.
Opposing to some other companies and examples in the past i am 100% sure that Xils Lab could really meet their deadlines and they do not get into producing so called "vaporware".

very true all that unfortunately (including the part about Lotuzia and Tone2).
Anyway both Bastiaan and me noticed that the situation towards Tone2 seems to be improving recently.

Thanks for your support ChiTown.ChiTown24 wrote: ...... my otherwise constant support of xils-lab and Lotuzia as a representative of xils-lab, .......
As for your other concerns, well it just shows that different people will have a different perception of some of the actions we took at Xils. Sometimes very different. It's a good thing. Hence why we propose different offers, to try to answer to different people needs. Hope you'll find yours.
Else, as far as Xils is concerned, this pre order discussion is closed.

nope, I didn't misunderstand. I know that your implication was not based on the foundation of my feelings on dongles, but that I'm being insincere about my misgivings re: the make believe pre-order scheme and am only 'pretending' in order to derail a xils-lab thread. I'm not part of 'that crowd' as you suggest. That's so far removed from the facts as to be comical.TheoM wrote:you misunderstood Chi. I mean very simply that because you did not have an issue with dongles and did NOT want a dongle debate, you caused problems another way. It took up many posts and pages of complaints. I just follow KVR history that it always happens to Lotuzia and Tone 2, always. I don't believe in coincidence. That said, i am loving the mute function and thankfully i have 16 to go, so consider this the last time i ever read your posts again anyway. Cheerio.
Besides, the notion that I would pretend to care about something in order to derail a thread is CLASSIC projection on your part. Anyone even vaguely familiar with your posts on the forum will know that if a dev slights you in any way, you mysteriously turn sour and start posting negative threads & posts about them until they give you what you want.
I don't need to do such things, I just calls it how I sees it.
is there something wrong with you ?Ingonator wrote:Have you ever thought about that the pre-order time is needed to both get the initial release rock solid (as much as possible) and also to prepare the official release including the final installers (multiple versions + plugin formats), the website+ links, audio demos, dealing with eLicenser and iLok about licenses etc. ?

you know that I have been warned off from discussing pre-orders, and yet you have been constantly addressing me on that topic since that warning was issued.
Since you are so determined...
For a start, you're speaking in that "I'm speaking officially for Xils" tone again - you know, the tone that leads to you eventually correcting people for inferring that what you say is what the dev thinks or says in private. Second, yes I HAVE thought about the real reasons for such a make believe pre-order scheme. I had asked Lotuzia several times what the purpose of the pre-order was, before he turned sour, and those suggestions you suggested were NOT his reply.
It's a gimmick, with no actual logistic necessity. A gimmick that is, at the end of the day, an exercise in gullibility.
BTW, if it was you who made the 'report' earlier..I should hope the mods keep it in mind that after issuing a warning for my benefit you still kept probing me for my thoughts on the pre-order scheme. Even if you didn't make the report, don't think I hadn't noticed how you addressed me on the topic more frequently after the warning was issued.
at any rate, you might want to pay heed to this before addressing me on the topic again:

folks should beableto havedifferent opinions without the fanboy or troll being thrown around.
and without it getting personal, we are supposed to be adults...
and yes, i own a couple of xils products, however due to discussions me and laurent have had in the past i decided it was best to buy them "anonymously".
(non dongled stuff, for reasons stated in the past)

Leave the arguments about pre-orders and dongles at home folks,
and from here out discuss the synth.
