Congrats! It's well deserved!
I think you should steal the line "cheaper than a parking ticket" for all future marketing.

Well, parking tickets in Seattle are cheaper than VintageVerb. A parking ticket + the late payment fine = more expensive than VintageVerb. I'm trying to think of something funny to add to this, but I am really annoyed by these parking tickets...b15fliptop wrote:Congrats! It's well deserved!

What about: Cheaper than a parking ticket while you're in GC buying a new iLok that broke when you threw your laptop on the floor when you were pulled over for the speeding ticket driving to the espresso bar while demoing reverb plugins.valhallasound wrote:Well, parking tickets in Seattle are cheaper than VintageVerb. Nah...more like a full commercial than a slogan.
Cheaper than a parking ticket + iLok + Speeding Ticket + Espresso.
Closer to slogan size, but the plot is lost and so am I.
perception: the stuff reality is made of.

After sampling a rented vibraphone the whole day I made a little impro bowing the instrument and processing the recording with VVV and UberMod. The vibra signal first goes into VVV (Sanctuary) and the VVV signal is then routed to one instance of UberMod. I didn't remove the little accidents which always occur when bowing a vibra, I had the vibrato engine on during the impro and made some speed changes while playing.

A piano improv processed with VVV in Random Space mode, only the wet signal is processed with another VVV in Chorus Space mode.

I really really really like this. You've got some great texture going in there. The notes have some definite "grain" as they decay away, but the grain isn't repeating - they just hang there and rumble. Curtis Roads once described thunder as "granular convolution," as the impulse is reflected off of clouds, hills, mountains. Your improv reminds me of that.Sampleconstruct wrote:A piano improv processed with VVV in Random Space mode, only the wet signal is processed with another VVV in Chorus Space mode.

Thank you guys
@ Sean - I read a lot about and by Curtis Rods recently as I was giving a seminar about electronic sound generation at a Uni, and granular synthesis was one of the things I demonstrated and explained - this man is very far out there! Granular Convolution = thunder is spot on...

So one insert and one send? Or a send with two reverbs on the return track?Sampleconstruct wrote:A piano improv processed with VVV in Random Space mode, only the wet signal is processed with another VVV in Chorus Space mode.

It's crazy how nice a piano sound with nice long reverb. What piano did you use anyways? I find that a less noisy piano is important for these types of sounds.

No, piano sent pre-fader to a Bus with VVV 1 (so I could adjust the dry signal to taste), then the signal of VVV1 was sent to VVV2.Echoes in the Attic wrote: So one insert and one send? Or a send with two reverbs on the return track?

I used a Steinway upright miced with 3 KM 184, heavily compressed (NI SSL Bus Comp) so that the subtle notes don't get lost.
