As I know that there is many Linux users but few practical options...

http://www.tracktion.com/linux

Seems to work well, a few bugs as expected but mostly stable, and really cool.

You can get some VSTs here
The "Tal" ones work flawless on my Ubuntu.

It is a very nice product although a bit outdated but given that their are working hard at updating it, seems a good option.

Nice to see Tracktion making the move to Linux.

Is there a known bugs list?

Maybe you could post your linux and hardware details, for others with
similar setups? I'll be entrenched at 32 bits for some time, so without
a 32 bit release, I'll have to try later using a 64bit live distro, or two.
The upgrade price is too good to pass buy

For those who bought, or can buy, an older IK Multimedia Stealth Plug bundle,
Traction 2.1 full version, is on one of the CDs, register it,
and get the upgrade pricing. (Stealth Plug is a usb guitar interface cable)

Cheers

UbuntuGnome 13.04 64 bits

I get the tracktion. deb to install and it installs the T4 icon in the apps menu , but will not launch when clicked on , no dice ......

The crash log mentions a problem with low latency kernel.

Tried launching it with LXDE and a generic kernel , no luck . Still , cant believe T4 is on Linux , its really exciting ,cant wait till we get a really good compatible build of it , now only if everyone could port there plugins to linux VST versions , Id be in hog heaven .. :hihi:

Post

Did you try starting from a terminal? Sometimes a clue or two
will be found in the terminal output.
Or try starting both jackd and traction as root?
Using a ubuntu variant recently, after some synaptic updates,
I had to redo the user joining the audio group :? strange goings on.
Cheers

I do agree but T4 doesn't support LV2 at the moment , LV2 would be nice for use with Ardour3 though , which is what I use on Linux at the moment .
