I know it's no big deal and no biggie to adjust them as needed, but every time I pull up one of these and scroll presets I think, "FFS Steinberg, Really?"
I thought it was only me. Well, they're pretty uninteresting synths anway.

Cubase 7.0.4 in 32Bit and also in 64Bit are most advanced updates yet. no problems for mesince 7.0.2, like vst host bridge crashes, freeze, crashing or freezing on shutdown cubase or similar known before errors/bugs. mix console gets better and better with every update.

HALion4 crashed Cubase for me yesterday, but that's the first crash I've had in weeks or months. It's been rock-solid for me.

I haven't dug deep enough into it yet to comment on the new features yet, but I will say that the 6-6.5 upgrade was worth it. You got Retrologue and Padshop, which, if bought separately, would have cost you more than the upgrade from 6 to 6.5. That was one dot upgrade that I didn't mind paying for.

is the asio overload bug fixed? i cant get it to do what it used to do which was when you played a note, the more keys you play/notes the asio load would just peak and you would get that red asio overload message? steinberg told me it was due to a lack of memory but im not buying it was due to there half finished release. now, the asio load stays solid no mater how many times you press the keys or how fast. is it just me or is it fixed now im not sure?

:edit: it does seem fixed. my gripes about cubase are almost gone :D

Cubase 7 is my first experience of Cubase, having come from Logic & Pro-Tools. And I have to say I love it, I don't have all these problems that everyone exists, I've had a few GUI issues, and occasional crashing on exit. But nothing major.

to add to the response about charging for a .5 update...
it did come with new vsti's (retrologue and padshop)
and also
it allowed a cheaper upgrade to version 7 version (that is comparing 6 to 7 vst 6.5 to 7)

but yes for me too this has been the best update.

I think a lot of developers are charging for a .5 update now.

Anyway, iinm, the auto color was fixed in 7.03

Yes you do. Most of the issues are not machine to machine, they are known "choices" in crappy functionality. You just don't know any better ... YET. Once you wrap your head around what is supposed to happen, you will recognize when you have trod on poo.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

Could anyone kindly post a picture of the updated mixer? I am thinking of upgrading from 6.5 but I was waiting for a stable release. seems like this is it.

I am still getting occasional crashes on my mind, but that might be a memory issue. I have been using some pretty hefty orchestral libraries and pushing the memory dangerously close to my [previous] 8GB limit (I upgraded to 16GB last night, so hopefully that will go away). Just saying, it may or may not be perfectly stable yet--although I still like C7 overall, I do get about one crash per day.

I can post a screenshot later today if nobody else does first. Anything in particular you want see (e.g. any of the channel strip devices or anything)?

its an awesome release! it just disgusting that it took so long to get it to this point. very unprofessional. i bought cubase 7 in december DECEMBER! at 7.0 and up till 4.0 it was completely unusable. the biggest issue i was having was that when ever i play a note, or even played through the pianoroll, the asio/peak bar would spike.

i must have put up cubase in marketplace over 3 times before withdrawing it at 7.4. then, these scummy bastards call me at home and give me this bull shit excuse that the spiking is because i dont have enough memory. so then the retard tells me all these things i should try when in reality, it was a huge bug due to there half finished 7.0 release which was so damn buggy there should have been a class action lawsuit! ill be honest, i was really considering suing them in small claims court for a full refund. for me its very stable now and no more spiking. i love how steinberg refuses to even acknowledge the bug even existed. because nowhere is it listed under 'fixes' but it was real for sure. im elated that they fixed it.

but now, im happily using it :D but, D-I-G-U-S-T-I-N-G AND UNPROFESSIONAL

+1 i love how you can close all the tabs. besides, i heard that the channel strip as much as steinberg wants you to believe is based on v7 tech is not. it uses old cubase effects repackaged into a channel strip which if you ask me, if pretty shitty of steinberg to do. lets not forget that stupid guy in the cubase 7 video, "yeah. i really love this channel strip"

Just bear in mind, this is a 7.0 screenshot, and the GUI was slightly updated in 7.04.

Namely, the strips for each rack (i.e. where it says "INSERTS" and "STRIP") and the appearance of slots that have plugins in them have been cleaned up a little bit. It's open to opinion, obviously, but I think it looks much cleaner now (and hopefully the will continue improving it).
