Just a quick update on this, since the new version is pretty much done apart from presets. I'll be making presets based on a Boss ME-50 (this has 22 distortion types!), which I hope to have tomorrow. I've already tested against a Behringer OD100 (supposed Boss OS2 clone) using a Bass Bot TT303 (TB303 clone) as input and Expresso compares very favourably. Surprisingly so! I'll try to stick up an Expresso vs OD100 comparison later.

This is a very good plugin !
Several clearly laid controls offers a vast range of sound shaping possibilities.
This is not only saturation and distortion unit. It's also capable of interesting timbres similar to phaser, notch filter and flanger but with the specific flavour of distortion.
At present I' ve tried it mainly on synthetic drums and I've been very satisfied with the results
Blend it !
Turn up those knobs to get heavy mangled material and then apply a very little amount of the WET signal. True parallel distortion, result is very impressive
Fold it !
Find that sweet spot of foldback distortion together with other controls and you get drums with a completely new face
Synths also !
Don't hesitate to use it also on synths
. Let your bassline to shine out !
Thank you for Expresso, Mr. Cytospur ! I really appreciate your effort you put in development of this plug.
Keep going on.

Wow, thanks for the kind words. Just the sort of boost I needed after a difficult week.

Getting ready to release the update to this. Here's a screen shot:
I've changed the filters a bit and their position in the signal path. I've also added a 'harm' knob, which adds harmonics to the signal, plus an invert switch, and a 'diff' switch, which is a frequency fixed high pass filter. There are 10 presets, based on distortion pedals I have sitting around. Not terribly faithful I'm afraid
You might also notice the scopes below. Can't have enough scopes
Here's a small mp3 demo of it:

No manual for Expresso. I'll try to do a small one for Doppio. Work and family have been all-consuming recently, but I hope to have things wrapped up in a couple of weeks. Sorry for the wait!
